The AP reports that President Obama tried to assuage Jewish supporters during a fundraising stop in New York hosted by a prominent Jewish donor, who had been billed among prospective fundraisers ahead of time as a chance for a "substantive and candid" discussion about concerns in the Jewish community.

When the fundraiser's host, American Jewish Congress chairman Jack Rosen, mentioned "concerns" about the ties between Israel and the U.S., Obama declared, "We don't compromise when it comes to Israel's security."
According to the AP report, Obama said no ally surpasses Israel in importance to the U.S., which Rosen followed up by saying the president's administration has been the most supportive ever of Israeli security.

No, really, Israel...I am your friend. What? Supported the overthrow of your ally and neighbor Mubarak for the Muslim Brotherhood? Well, sure, but...what? Engineered the overthrow of the tired old bastard Qadafi for the mobs? Well, sure, but...what? Gave money to Hamas as one of my very first acts in office? Well, sure, but....what? Condemned you for building apartments in Jerusalem? Well, sure, but...what? Attended the party of a Jew hater? Well sure, but....what? Went to a church that honors Louis Farakhan? Well, sure, but....what? Demanded you go back to the 1967 borders, when you were attacked by the Arab world? Well, sure, but...what? How much proof do you need, Israel? Barack Hussein Obama is not your friend. He will turn his back on you and in fact give aid and comfort to your sworn enemies.
If Hussein had his way, Saddam Hussein would still be paying terrorist bombers $25,000 to kill Israeli teenagers eating pizza. If Hussein had his way, the nation of Israel would have indefensible borders.
Hussein gives lip service to our friendship. Just like, two or three weeks before the uprising in Cairo began, he sat with Mubarak in the White House and spoke of friendship. He will throw Israel under the bus, too, if given the chance.
Next November, we hope to defeat him and not allow him to hurt our alliance any more.
