He only recently became the frontrunner.
If he wins the nomination he'll be hit from every side and angle by a press that hates his guts...just like McCain. The only difference is, Newt is ready for them.
He's the only candidate in the Republican field capable of taking them on.
Well, of course he will, but here's the strategy angle you're failing to see.
The real threats to the Dem/RINO ruling class establishment are being attacked and undermined NOW. Long before the first primary votes are cast. There's an effort afoot to eliminate them from serious contention, leaving only the establishment's favorite sons to compete for the nomination.
Those favorite sons are Mitt and Newt. It's why you don't hear a peep out of the mainstream press about them. As you've already said, they won't be attacked until one of them has secured the nomination, and that is the simplicity of the left's master plan to re-elect Obama.
As far as they're concerned, the type of people who would really correct the system must be prevented from getting the nomination at all costs. Only their approved candidates will be allowed to run the full course of the race.
The press isn't going after all of our candidates. Some of them are no threat, because they're already so far out of contention. No need to waste resources on them. They're only going after those candidates who have high poll numbers, and who don't meet with their approval.
So ask yourself. With Newt and Mitt in the top three, why aren't they sustaining any attacks from the left, as Herman Cain is?
