BREAKING!! Aide: Herman Cain will stay in the race
The State Column ^ | Nov 29, 2011 | Staff

After reports surfaced Tuesday morning that pizza magnate Herman Cain is reassessing his 2012 Republican presidential nomination bid, POLITICO obtained a statement from a Cain campaign spokesman regarding his candidates’ consideration of dropping out of the race.

“Yes,” the campaign spokesman said Tuesday when asked whether Cain would “definitely” remain in the race.

The clarification comes after the National Review Online released statements that Cain made in a conference call with campaign aides Tuesday morning. During the call, Cain made the following statements, “We have to do an assessment as to whether or not this is going to create too much of a cloud, in some people’s minds, as to whether or not they would be able to support us going forth,” Cain said.

Hey, thanks for the tip. You’re real helpful!

It's called charitable giving. Two brains, not enough neurons to even fuel one of 'em?

You need all the help you can get.

"I would have to have people totally committed to the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of this United States. And many of the Muslims, they are not totally dedicated to this country. They are not dedicated to our Constitution. Many of them are trying to force Sharia law on the people of this country."

I know you do, but what about me?

Ye gawds, you have the audacity to make comments in this thread about a FReeper posting something you consider "lame" and then you come up with one of the lamest retorts known to man?

I amend my previous remark: you are not in need of "all the help you can get", you are quite obviously BEYOND help.

I'll bet you think that's witty and original, but it's not. A lot of zotees before you have sung it.

Those favorite sons are Mitt and Newt.

BS. The Establishment is pulling for Romney. The MSM and the Dems despise Newt. He's the most conservative Speaker in the history of the House and they don't want him anywhere near the halls of power again.

The media took on Gingrich when his staff quit. They wrote him off, they attacked him for lack of organization and focus and for having too much credit at Tiffany's. His divorces and peccadilloes are well-known and of no concern to the MSM, in part because his enemies within "conservative" circles all over the blogosphere are hammering him with the topic daily. It's as though he cheats on his ex-wives every day of the year.

The press pretty much shot their wad with Gingrich when his staff left. As I said, he only recently attained front-runner status and they'll only start hammering him again if they think it'll serve their purposes. Newt does well when attacked by the left because he can counterpunch. They're gun-shy about him and they've been reminded of his resilience in the face of their criticism over the last several months.

So where's the concerted, coordinated, DNC/RINO/MSM campaign to take him down? A few negative articles don't constitute a campaign of destruction.

No, they don't want him near the halls of power again, but they don't want ANY Republican to sit in the White House again. Most especially, one who would really take an axe to their cherished socialist behemoth. Newt's not that guy, so he gets a pass. If worse comes to worse, they know that he'll behave, where Bachmann, Cain, or Santorum wouldn't.

If the state-run media really wanted to take Newt down, they'd be pulling out all the stops NOW, and would be using their ample ammo (provided by Newt himself) to destroy his chances of winning the nomination.

His moment under the hot lights of the leftmedia slice and dice machine are coming, but only if he gets the nomination. Until then, they'll just nibble at his ankles. Just like they're doing with Romney.

The behaviour of this latest woman and perhaps one of the others seem somewhat like stalking to me.

I agree. The reporter who broke this story was so unprofessional that we have no idea how many calls were made TO the number and how many made FROM the number.

Her history of stalking and harassing with phone calls (see lawsuit) and also having filed a harassment suit previously add up to very low credibility.

I suggest an apology to all parrots is in order. At least parrots are colorful, entertaining, amusing at times, and they do it all with just one small brain.

"Ya’ll have gone to the politics of personal destruction well once to often. You remind me of McCarty in the early 50s. His comet came and went in the space of a few months. What shot it down was one brave man who refused to be intimidated. You should read up on history."

With all due respect, I think it is you who need to read up. The release of the transcripts of the decrypted "Venona Papers" should have removed any lingering doubt in any reasonable person's mind that Joe McCarthy was EXACTLY correct is saying the US Government had been infiltrated by communists and Soviet agents up to the highest levels of the government. You might start with "Venona: Decoding Soviet Espionage in America" which, although showing there was no proof of the treachery of certain persons on McCarthy's various "lists", supports his basic assertion of communist infiltration of the US government.

And, of course, it must be borne in mind that the Venona messages that have been decrypted represent a small fraction of Soviet cable traffic and it is mainly through the mistake of certain Soviet cryptographers in reusing pages of one-time pads that any cables could be decrypted at all.

Once you finish that one, you might also take a glance at "In Denial: Historians, Communism, and Espionage" (by the same authors) that speaks to the liberal revisionist history that you, apparently, have swallowed regarding Senator McCarthy.

"just watching a live stream of his speech he just referred to ‘former Prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu’ not once but twice....."

I hate to point this out to you, but technically Cain is correct. Netanyahu IS a FORMER Prime Minster of Israel - he previously served in the post from June 1996 to July 1999. He is, of course, also the CURRENT Prime Minister, but since Obama has cornered all the good teleprompters on the market, Herman has to rely on mere mortal memory. At least he can keep straight how many states are in the union (that would be 50 for you Obama supporters).

Well, now that you bring him up, at this point it’s either Cain or I write in Mickey Mouse.

Sadly, I was thinking the same thing...and yes, I miss Sarah, too.
