After reports surfaced Tuesday morning that pizza magnate Herman Cain is reassessing his 2012 Republican presidential nomination bid, POLITICO obtained a statement from a Cain campaign spokesman regarding his candidates consideration of dropping out of the race.
Yes, the campaign spokesman said Tuesday when asked whether Cain would definitely remain in the race.
The clarification comes after the National Review Online released statements that Cain made in a conference call with campaign aides Tuesday morning. During the call, Cain made the following statements, We have to do an assessment as to whether or not this is going to create too much of a cloud, in some peoples minds, as to whether or not they would be able to support us going forth, Cain said.

Do you really think HC has what it takes to administer foreign policy???The man is a joke on current affairs!
Agreed. Herman's got to tighten that sort of stuff up. Don't think that his campaign aides aren't acutely aware of those mis-steps, and that they're not working hard to help him dial it in better.
What matters most to people like me, is that Herman has all the right foundation stones in place. The man has character, smarts, vision, courage, proven executive capabilities, and an unswerving allegiance to our Founding Principles.
Those core attributes are a thousand times more important than getting the name of West Goomballia's Grand Potentate correct.
If he is innocent, and I’m presuming he is, it would be a serious blow to let him be driven from the race based upon unsubstantiated accusations. This hurts everyone.
Goodness, a totally innocent person could be character assasinated over the most trivial thing.
Sadly, I do believe it has hurt him. It has caused doubt, which is a killer. Americans are basically fair minded, but too easily swayed by gossip.
You should not miss your appointments with your shrink.
“You cant oppose Romney and Huntsman without attacking their religion?
A cult is not a religion...
I see this as the biggest battle the tea party has faced. Its more dangerous because we’re fighting people who come at us with a smile but conceal a knife behind their backs.
At least with the democrats, we knew who they were and what they had planned for us.
I watched the entire segment and it was worth it to see CK smack Juan over the Marxist's weak, embarrassing reaction to Iran's attack on the British Embassy.
The arrogant, truly and totally inept Marxist must be defeated.
Well, thank you, I am not a cainiac, Lord help those who are.
Maybe, but I think Cain could have done a lot more to change that outcome right up to that last press release by his lawyer which could possibly be inferred as an admission.
Good for Herman. Good for America.
Go, Cain!
Maybe, but Newt (suspiciously) doesn't have the right sort of enemies, and he isn't weathering any campaign killing attacks.
That's practically become my new litmus test for a candidate. Our enemies tell us who they fear, and who they don't, by who they seek to destroy.
I have turned one son from newt, working on the other one, so that will neuter your several for newt...have a couple of others I am giving information on newt. For them he is toast....
As an aside...While this thread has been going, something occurred to me about this quote from the accuser:
"He made it very intriguing, very fun," White said. "It was something that took me away from my humdrum life at the time."
For a significant portion of the last thirteen years Mr. Cain was suffering from stage 4 cancer. He underwent many treatments (chemo and radiation, I think).
How on earth was he able to maintain an affair during that time? How could he make it "..very intriguing, very fun..."?

The female bodybuilder who once ran a bicycle business with latest Herman Cain accuser Ginger White says the Atlanta woman never mentioned the Republican presidential candidate, who she says was her lover for 13 years.
“His name has never come up,” said Kimberly Vay, who told ABC News that she and White were former business partners.
But Vay, who filed and won a libel lawsuit against White, refused to comment directly when asked whether she considers White’s accusations about Cain credible. “When you see the details of my lawsuit,” said Vay, “they will speak for themselves.” She then referred ABC News to her attorney.
