BREAKING!! Aide: Herman Cain will stay in the race
The State Column ^ | Nov 29, 2011 | Staff

After reports surfaced Tuesday morning that pizza magnate Herman Cain is reassessing his 2012 Republican presidential nomination bid, POLITICO obtained a statement from a Cain campaign spokesman regarding his candidates’ consideration of dropping out of the race.

“Yes,” the campaign spokesman said Tuesday when asked whether Cain would “definitely” remain in the race.

The clarification comes after the National Review Online released statements that Cain made in a conference call with campaign aides Tuesday morning. During the call, Cain made the following statements, “We have to do an assessment as to whether or not this is going to create too much of a cloud, in some people’s minds, as to whether or not they would be able to support us going forth,” Cain said.

“I know a lot of people and they haven’t moved to Newt. Maybe you’re lot of people are different than my lot of people. That’s a whole lot of people.”

A lot of people haven’t really moved to anyone. It’s more like being down on Cain and Perry than anything else.

Tell you what Sparky, the only poll that counts is the one on Election Day.

But by all means, submit your invoice for ‘services rendered’ to the Gingrich Campaign, I’m sure they appreciate your efforts.

I will be talking to one of his aids in the morning. Cain is going to be in New Hampshire and will be meeting with him and the staff up there. When I hear something I will post it. I am the Western NY coordinator for Cain so I am anxious to hear first hand what is going to happen, I hate speculation.

Go Herman! The country needs a successful businessman at the helm, not lifelong politicians. We had politicians running the joint since Eisenhower and we are only 2 years away from joining Greece.

Hey Danny, you're getting alot of inquiries on HAIRBOY just because Perry also has that reputation, so it's just a little confusing which one you're referring to. :)

I like Herman Cain if I had a vote he would get it......but just watching a live stream of his speech he just referred to ‘former Prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu’ not once but twice.....it is sloppy and he is only providing ammunition to his opponents!

He needs to shake up his advisers and campaign management and formulate policies as comprehensive and impressive as 999.

With Cain staying in, it may only help Romney by splitting the conservative vote.

Says you, who's only been here a little over thirty days. You might not want to stridently attack the Tea Party's best hope in this campaign until you've established some credibility around here.

I love the way he puts idiots in their place.

Sure turns off the idiots though. Their problem is, Newt really is more educated and more intelligent than they are, and they just can't stand it.

His fund raising will not dry up until Cain himself withdraws from the race. The bimbo eruptions are orchestrated by some one who is deathly afraid of Cain candidacy. It is either the White House war room or a rival GOP candidate.

"sick?" "evil?"

You're mad, delusional...unwilling to even assess the facts/charges calmly......can't one have a civil discourse here any more?

sSort of like the “fire in my belly” quotes made by another person who was ‘definitely definitely’ going to run. :/

His fundraising has most likely all but dried up. His campaign will starve for a lack of $$$

My gosh - is that true! I guess I'd better send him some more money then!

God be with you and your family, Mr. Cain.

AMEN, Chris!

I feel as you, sick to my stomach. I believe this would have come out when he first ran for office if any of it were true.

I can't imagine how we will ever get decent people to run for office when they are treated this horribly. I repeat your prayer again....

God be with you and your family, Mr. Cain!

I never thought he would drop out. I knew the stories about “reassessing” were just hopeful rumors from the Hate The Cain Train people. Now, more than ever, this good man needs support AND someone noteworthy to take a stand for him about all the false accusations. At this point I just hope his name can be truly cleared whether or not he becomes the front running candidate again. It is terrible what has been done to try and discredit him. He is a strong man, good and moral, but these lies are hard to overcome.
