One conservative attorney says he has no sympathy for the atheists who have launched a holiday advertising campaign to promote their stance and attack Christians. The billboard and newspaper ads that read "Bias Against Atheists is Naughty, Not Nice" are being placed in towns where atheists have made an effort to push religion out of the public arena. "I have very little sympathy for atheists, the ones who are perpetrating anti-Christian bias," admits Matt Barber of Liberty Counsel Action. "And when they receive a little push-back and people point out the reality that we are a Christian nation, they get in a huff." He notes that atheists are attacking Christianity, especially in the courts, in an effort to "reinvent and recreate America and revise American history" to do away with the country's heritage and silence anything other than the most private religious expression. "It kind of falls on deaf ears when they start to play the victim card here, when atheist organizations across the United States like the ACLU and People for the American Way have religious liberty in their crosshairs," the attorney contends. Meanwhile, the American Humanist Association argues that Christians are violating the rights of non-believers and discriminating against them when people defend their faith against atheist attacks.

my wife is an atheist and she thinks these people are losers.
“Victim” of what?
Who’s to say what’s “right” or “wrong”....per their lack of standards?
The concept of “victim” does not exist in atheism. There is only winner and loser.
The word “victim” implies morals. Atheism, by definition, makes you your own source of moral values. So the only person on the planet that can be a victim is you. And then only because you say so. If you rob a bank and get caught, you are a victim of the police.
>>The word âvictimâ implies morals.
>>If you rob a bank and get caught, you are a victim of the police.
That has to be one of the most ignorant arguments I’ve ever heard. Morality and ethics existed centuries before christianity. “The Bible says so” is not the only moral framework in existence.
—Morality and ethics existed centuries before christianity.—
Where did I mention Christianity? I was talking about atheism.
I don’t know that a single atheist existed before Christianity.
Galatians 6:7 “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap.”
I’m an atheist, but I don’t see any need to attack religion. Whatever happened to freedom of choice? Live and let live. The most important thing is freedom, which naturally must include religious freedom.
I would say there were. Except they wouldn’t believe in a pantheon of gods....polyatheists?
—
Sort of backed yourself into a corner and started contradicting yourself, didn’t you, old top?—
I honestly have no idea what you are talking about. Are you responding in the right thread.
I fully stand behind what I said in my first post. And, like I said in my second, I did not mention Christianity in it. It was the responders inference.
Well within the context of the subject at hand, I would say they believed there was something “greater than man” from which the concept of morality originated for them.
I’ve also never met a “real” atheist face to face. I’ve met a LOT who claim to be, but once qualifying questions are asked, eventually every single one of them admitted they just weren’t sure. That is, by definition, an agnostic viewpoint.
An Atheist believes there is no god just as Christians believe that Jesus was God in the flesh. And if a person truly believes that, then all morals come from within. They are, in fact, their own god - the wellspring of all moral laws. Further, it means they believe there is no “intelligent” creator and therefore no morals whatsoever. That is, anything created “by accident” has no moral implications. To preserve or destroy it is not an act of morality any more than kicking a rock in the desert is an act of morality.
I have no problem with people who are atheist. Everyone has the right to believe or not believe. What I have a problem with is these organizations that exist not to secure the right for people to not believe in a God, but rather exist to destroy the ability of people of faith to practice those beliefs openly. This is not an effort to defend the “free exercise”, it is an all out assault to limit the “free exercise” of Christians.
I suspect that the most virulent of claimed atheists are actually theists who are angry with God and seek retribution against God’s people to harm the God they believe has wronged them in some way. (Note: I’m not saying all atheists fit this mold...just the one’s who seemed so pissed off at those of us who have a good relationship with our Creator).
LITTLE GIRL ON A PLANE
An atheist was seated next to a little girl on an airplane and
he turned to her and said, “Do you want to talk? Flights go quicker
if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger.”
The little girl, who had just started to read her book,
replied to the total stranger, “What would you want to talk about?”
” Oh, I don’t know,” said the atheist. “How about why there is
no God, or no Heaven or Hell, or no life after death?” as he smiled
smugly.
“OK,” she said. “Those could be interesting topics but let me
ask you a question first. A horse, a cow, and a deer all eat the same
stuff - grass. Yet a deer excretes little pellets, while a cow turns
out a flat patty, but a horse produces clumps. Why do you suppose that
is?”
The atheist, visibly surprised by the little girl’s
intelligence, thinks about it and says, “Hmmm, I have no idea.”
To which the little girl replies, “Do you really feel qualified
to discuss why there is no God, or no Heaven or Hell, or no life after
death, when you don’t know crap?”
And then she went back to reading her book.
Be generous. Give them the 15th of April, too.
Whenever people of other religions or atheists attack Christians I get in their faces.
