In a conference call this morning, Herman Cain told his senior staff that he is reassessing whether to remain in the race

Thanks. i will say a prayer for Bubba. Tasha had a rough life before we got her. She was beaten and left out in the snow her early years. It has been 8 months and I can just now speak of her without crying.
Now our neighbor has a lab that is the same age as Tasha was. She runs all over the place and is just fine when she is in town.
Labs are the best!!!!!!
Well, Weiner did get what wa scomign to him, but only because he became a liability to the cause.
Thank you, justsaynomore, for the update. Xzins and Paperdoll, check her comment about the Cain volunteer’s comment on FB.
I totally agree. I am feeling demoralized recently. I really am hoping for a floor fight where others throw their hat in the ring, like DeMint and those others mentioned earlier.
Funny!
People actually might want a candidate that had a chance at winning an election.
The rest of the voters you are trying to attract aren’t Freepers.
Looks like the Obama Axie machine set Cain up but good. This story is published that he is quitting and it is not against the law that this woman knows Cain’s number.
Cain’s wife should get on the TV and say this is her friend as well and Cain should not drop out...
“The perfect FR candidate had sex only for procreation once a month. Studied the bible until bedtime every day of his life.
Never used alcohol in his life and on weekends went out and shot border crossing illegals with his 30.06 rifle.”
Yeah, that’s a real cheerful, calm, light post.
He drives me nuts with the "I was the first...I led on that...I was the only....I am the one who....I...I...I..."
As Mark Steyn pointed out, Reagan didn’t win by moving to the middle- he won by moving the middle to him.
Compromising conservative principles is not a winner.
If Cain had a sullied past, the media would have ignored it until **after** he was nominated. Then one week before the election, all this would have spilled out.
The media is trying to manipulate who will be on the Republican ticket. The Marxist media wants Romney to be the candidate because they know Obama can beat him.
The very minute Romney gets the nomination **then** ( not now) will be all the stories on blacks not being given the priesthood, every nutty think any Mormon prophet had to say, and exhumed polygamous relatives. Four days before the election, a few excommunicated Mormons will testify that they witnessed baby sacrifice in the Mormon temples.
Bet on it!
Yea, that was a pretty stupid post wasn’t it?
Do I hear a “verily”??
I’m beginning to think that what he is “assessing” is how to address this whole media attack:
- Does he get his wife involved?
- To what degree does he have his lawyer go after this woman (risk: media support for the “poor” woman)
- How to stop the false allegations
RE: post #267
Well I hardly ever disagree with freeper Jeff Head, but sorry to say this time I do. Sorry Jeff, Cain is speaking out both sides of his mouth, I don’t believe him anymore. I was his biggest supporter here at FR. No more, done, very sorry to say this, but we cannot condone this type of behavior, besides the fact that he is very spotty at best on the issues.
Mitt Romney will be our next president, he can beat Obama, Newt cannot, he might be able to out-speak him in a debate, but he will not get independent voters.
what’s the deal with North Carolina?
@SarahDMZ
Sarah Ricard Dennis Miller’s officially off the Cain Train. Calls Herman Cain “unelectable.” http://www.dennismillerradio.com/b/Hes-Unelectable/-720826185735892969.html @dennisdmz #hermancain
I can’t switch my support to Newt. The rest of the world may line up behind him, but I just can’t.
1) Contract on America was the simple chnage made to Contract With America to undermine the plan, and it worked.
2)That may have been part of it, but it was the constant droning of Contract on America that ended that congressional majority led by Newt.
3)It wasn’t a photo, it was a commerical in which I was lectured by him for the need of a government solution to an obvious hoax.
4)I’ve been breathing the same air for 40 years, and I’m fine, just like everyone else is fine.
5) Not Newt, the GOP and republicans in general are routine backstabbers. Not good foxhole partner material, not even a little bit. As soon as the left starts firing at me, I can expect my republican foxhole partner to bayonet me, then look for approval and position from the left...
6)If Cain did lie, then I’ll be sad, because my support for him is based upon his honesty that I perceive. However, people do lie, so will have to wait and see. My problem is no one from our side backed him up at all, as usual, which makes me not want to back them up at all. I am I’m going to tell you straight up right now that I ****ing despise the GOP, so yeah, supporting them is tough for me.
I will tell you this, soldierdad. I shared my thoughts and feelings of today here, and I’m pretty damn pissed off and probably need to chill a bit, BUT, there is a slim chance Newt could convince me to vote for him, that remains to be seen, however, I don’t think there is any chance I could support Romney. but when it comes down to that fateful day...who knows -_-;
I’m damn tired of seeing our candidates politically aassassinated and not backed up by our party, DAMN TIRED. If Herman in fact destroyed himself by doing these things, then that’s another story, but so far I have seen zero proof or evidence of such.
For what it is worth, if Cain is hiding a sordid past, which is coming out anyway, then Cain, as your candidate, has stuck a knife in your back much more so than anything Newt's ever done to you.
As a Cain supporter, I could not agree with you more (if the allegations turn out to be true). Alas, it would not be the first time a politician threw it all away.
But I am not going to throw him under the bus, I will stand with him because I believe he is being slandered. He can throw himself under the bus if the allegations are true.
Right now it is too easy to destroy ANY of our candidates with only accusations. If Cain goes, another target will be selected by the libs. We better be prepared for the next attack, true or untrue.
Pat Buchanan was right back in 1992 when he ran against GHWB and has been usually right ever since. Had this country adopted his policies back then we’d not have the myriad of domestic problems we have today (illegal immigration, China, H1-B overload, Cultural decay, etc).
Perry will be on with Jay Leno Thursday night. That should be fun.
As far as I know, Perry has never said one word critical of Cain.
The reverse, sadly, is not true.
