Have read Newt’s policy on illegals on his site. He never said a word about amnesty and his proposal is not amnesty. On the other hand..have never heard or read Cain’s ideas on deportation. There are major expenses involved and Newt’s honest enough to say exactly what needs to be done. Newt said NO amnesty, No citizenship ..they have to go to the back of the line, pay fines and undergo criminal background checks. On securing the border...all candidates are pretty much in accord with Paul being the exception. On deportation..I would bet most are in accord but dont have the guts to say so....on the costs of deporting...How Much Does it Cost to Deport 392,000 People?

Roughly $9.2 billion, according to figures from a March report on the per-immigrant cost of each step of the removal process. The numbers are estimates, of course, but it is still useful to illustrate the high costs behind the record number of deportations the DHS announced yesterday.

There are a number of costs involved in the removal process. First, illegal immigrants must be apprehended, which requires local law enforcement, Border Patrol and a number of Immigration and Customs Enforcement programs and offices. Next, they must be detained, and then processed through the legal system. Finally, illegal immigrants must be transported back to their native countries. Here are the per-person costs listed in the Center for American Progress report released in March:

Apprehension: $18,310
Detention: $3,355
Legal processing: $817
Transportation: $1,000

In total, that’s $23,480 for each of the 392,000 people the U.S. removed last year, or $9,204,944,000.

Of course, many of those deported were convicted criminals, meaning they would have had imposed high costs had they remained in the country. While numbers vary from state to state, on average it costs at least $60 per day (or $1,800 per month) to incarcerate prisoners.

You are lying. Newt has specifically advocated for “limited amnesty”.

Amnesty sure is there. Limited would be subject to court and gov good will.

Have read Newt’s policy on illegals on his site. He never said a word about amnesty and his proposal is not amnesty.

BS. Newt's plan would de-criminalize 30 million illegal aliens, while not granting them actual citizenship.

The problem with that, is it's the "camel nose under the tent". The leftists within our government would soon find a way to give them full citizenship, while forgoing all of the other demands of the deal, such as, returning to their country of origin to re-enter properly, paying the $5K fine, registering with the federal database, etc., etc.

Just like they stabbed Reagan in the back, the Dems in Congress would never do a damn thing to shut the border down, or deny government benefits and welfare to newly arrived illegals.

Talk about a pathway to citizenship. This is it.

have never heard or read Cain’s ideas on deportation.

Oh? Then you weren't listening to him in the last debate. Cain correctly pointed out that illegals will self-deport if we just enforce the laws already on the books. That's the sensible, conservative approach. Not dreaming up new ways to avoid offending illegals and liberals.

If you believe that Newt’s proposal isn’t amnesty then there is no hope for you.

Because this has been explained to you before, I am calling you out as a shill. An unenforced $5000 "fine" is the functional equivalent of amnesty and you know it.

How Much Does it Cost to Deport 392,000 People?

When they do it themselves, not a dime.

There are a number of costs involved in the removal process. First, illegal immigrants must be apprehended, which requires local law enforcement,

Apparently you've never read the Constitution. We have SELF-GOVERNMENT, with enforcement in the last case by a national unorganized militia consisting of every adult male between 18 and 45 years of age. Deputize that militia. Pay them a bounty to round up illegals. Penalize them for false arrest or imprisonment (that funds the fees). When the illegals figure out that they are a source of income for the citizens around them, they will flee, in droves.

Done.

The key is to have Congress preclude the Federal courts from getting involved on behalf of illegals because they in fact have no such jurisdiction. Illegals should have no standing in a Federal court. Theirs is a matter of law enforcement to be entirely within the purvey of administrative government.

Excellent and the reason you need a natural flow reversal. It will involve something just like Newt has suggested, along with getting Mexico out of ‘failed state’ status. That will take strong legal reforms freeing the economy. That will take force as the ruling oligarchy likes things just as they are.
