Seems to me that he wants to create an unconstitutional citizen/non citizen hybrid that the supreme court would legalize to citizenship inside of 18 months.

We have citizens. We have legal aliens. We have illegal aliens.

We already have too much confusion in this country regarding illegals. We don't need
legal non-citizen illegal residents to complicate the issue even further.
Red Card? Typical political canard that is just more Washington non-solution BS to make a problem appear to be resolved, while creating a potentially worse future problem --

Once the government declares these border-jumpers “legal”, the courts will have no problem deciding that the government cannot deny them citizenship. The “legal resident” proposal by Gingrich is a trojan horse. He knows it and the leftist media know it. Which is why they are praising him for having a “heart”.
Yep, to go along with Newt’s compassionate legality and red card, he wants illegals to be able to apply for citizenship on a visit home. The total net effect is massive citizenship amnesty.
