he would actually do the impossible task of bringing out more black voters for Obama than McCain did.
That's the most absurd thing I've read in a while.
Obama maxed out the black vote in 2008. If you were black and didn't vote for Obama in 2008, you almost certainly aren't going to vote for Obama in 2012.
Cain would not only garner less of the black vote than the other candidates
Utterly ridiculous. Gingrich, Romney, and Perry are exactly the kind of Bush-esque, rich white elites that black Democrats picture all Republicans to be. Those types are easily dismissed by blacks (Democrats in general actually) in a way that Herman Cain could never be.
Again, as I've said on another thread: the worst case scenario with Cain and blacks is that Cain does no better than other Republicans would have, but with Obama actually having to blow some of his resources to make sure of it. That is a net plus for us.
And I'll add to that here: if Obama and/or his proxies go full-on 'Uncle Tom treatment' on Cain, it would probably gain Cain massive sympathy with whites, who Obama is almost fatally damaged with at this point as it is.

(Of course I support Herman Cain. I'm a conservative.)

The write of this article is from Washington Post. Consider the source. And read it with many grains of salt.
And if Cain has no chance to win black votes, why are they writing articles about it and dampen his chances in the primaries? You would think they would encourage his nomination so Obama could defeat him easily.
Rest assured, the left is more scared of Cain than any of the other establishment white republicans. Cain endangers their most reliable voting block.
Lastly, the MSM has volumes of material handy to demolish Mitt and Newt, after they are nominated. With Cain, the best they have is Gloria Allred, who has now gone into hibernation along with Mz Bialek soon as the most famous anti-defamation lawyer Lin Wood shows up in Cain campaign.

(Only Herman Cain could break up Barack's 95% black voting block down to 75-80%.)
