Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann on Wednesday furthered the attacks on former House Speaker Newt Gingrich over his immigration policies, saying that he moves the most toward the left among the GOP presidential candidates.
"He probably has the most liberal position on illegal immigration of any of the candidates in the race," Bachmann said in an interview with "PBS NewsHour."

Does she think that Romney and Huntsman have dropped out?
I don’t know if I would call him the most liberal but he’s certainly a contender for the title.
Here she goes again attacking the front-runners. Her attacks on Perry relegated her to the bottom tier and she apparently has not learned from her mistakes.
Newt moved to the top tier by treating his fellow candidates with respect...something a lot of FReepers could learn from.
I know Newt Gingrich is always a power broker, and makes deals that unlike Michelle, she holds the line. She is probably right, and I sure hope she finishes strong in Iowa, and Cain second, or Perry.
You have to admire this woman’s tenacity, if nothing else. She never, ever stops.
Agree with you.
I think his obvious intelligence and thought on many issues had something to do with that top-tier move, as well.
Hogs, dogs, and hummingbirds are tenacious, too. Gotta have more than tenacity.
I wish she would go away. It is a shame because she is smart and I agree with her on thr issues about 85% of the time, but she is not ready for primetime.
Did she forget about Fred?
she also attacked Cain.
Title is misleading. Saying someone has the most liberal position on one issue is not saying they are the most liberal person.
And you know Romney would go for amnesty no matter what lies he is spouting and Perry has a history of being pro-illegal.
These type of kneejerk statements are why she’s at 5%.
She and Santorum have staked their viabolity on Iowa..so, they both have a few more weeks to enjoy the spotlight..
Actually, I call her the craziest candidate. She actually speaks rationally when she’s talking about figures and programs within her area, and I liked her for that, but once she strays from her expertise, she goes bonkers.
Wasn’t this posted last night? Bachmann...first she goes after Rick Perry; 2nd she goes after Cain and calls his 999 more like a 666 plan and now she is after Newt. She has skipped Mitt...why is that? and not to mention her campaign mgr went after Palin
Anyone start taking guesses which cushy ambassadorship Romney promised her for being his hitter at the other candidates? I haven’t seen anything this blatant since Dick Gebhardt was cutting Bill Bradley at the knees in 2000 for Al Gore
For many here, there's a fine line between respect and appeasement of political correctness.
