Not true. "Effect" can be used as a verb, as in "Barack Obama was elected on his promise to effect (v.) change in America. However, the only effect (n.) he has had is to drive our nation to the brink of despair."

You’re too sensitive, FRiend. I am not the ‘police’ and you’re not under arrest or even indictment for bad grammar. Free Republic is a place to learn and hone your skills. It’s common that FReepers point out errors and make corrections. Your error is a common one and the solution is simple.

I am sorry that you have hurt feelings over it. How was your Thanksgiving?
