Pinal County Sheriff's Office spokesman Elias Johnson confirmed a plane went down in the mountain range and caused a fire visible from miles away.
ABC15 viewers reported seeing the crash and flames around 6:40 p.m. Air15 video over the mountain range showed many separate areas of flames spread around the crash site. Johnson said the size of the plane and number of people involved is unknown at this time.

But the size of the plane and how many people were on board was not immediately clear, said Elias Johnson, a spokesman for the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office, adding that fire crews had been dispatched.
Live images on local 12 News showed a fire blazing in a darkened landscape, surrounded by smaller points of flame. It was not possible to make out the shape or form of an aircraft or any debris.
Representatives for Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and the suburban Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport said none of their planes were missing.
A spokesman for the Federal Aviation Administration said he did not immediately have details on the crash. The Superstition Mountains are 45 miles east of Phoenix.
Bump
I guess all of the commercial aircraft are accounted for?
At this point reports are they have been accounted for.
Rough country. Recovery of bodies may be difficult.
I’m pretty familiar with that area. Is the wreckage nearer to the Apache Trail or Florence Junction....
After some more reading it would have to be Florence Junction as Pinal County is involved.
Did you see the vid on the other thread?
That plane was flying very low...big explosion.

Might be out of Falcon or Gateway
Thats my best Perry imitation...((:0)
I haven’t watched the video other than what FNC showed.
I ended up on another thread. There is a private airport community in Chandler that I am aware of. Every homeowner has a hanger much like a garage attached to their house.

Just terrible... prayers for the family...
