“I tend to agree with Newt, a realistic view.”
Minnesota. Figures. If you had watched SoCal change from American suburbia of the Beach Boys into a suburb of Tijuana then perhaps your opinion of Newt’s “realistic view” would be somewhat different.
Minneapolis / St. Paul has the largest concentration of Somalians in the U.S.
Damn sad to realize that so many conservatives have drunk the illegal kool-aid! They can rationalize the invasion and destruction to America as “being compassionate”.
Well, **I** have watched it happen in SoCal. In fact, for around 33 of the last 40 years of my life, I've lived in Wilmington or San Pedro, two districts of Los Angeles that are both majority hispanic. (San Pedro probably 70%, and Wilmington probably 95%) While I didn't agree with Newt and didn't care for the way he stated his position, practically speaking I do agree he's being realistic. There is simply no way a politician could practically pull off 100% deportation... it would never get through Congress, and doing it with executive power would guarantee no 2nd term.
Post debate, the more I think about it, the less I disagree with Newt. Frankly, there is a statute of limitations on crimes far more severe than entering America illegally.
