Hosted by the Heritage Foundation and the American Enterprise Institute, the theme of tonight's Republican presidential debate is foreign policy and national security.
The debate is being held at Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C.
CNN is carrying the debate live at 8 p.m. EST.
Participating candidates are: businessman Herman Cain, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, Texas Gov. Rick Perry, former Speaker Newt Gingrich, Reps. Ron Paul (TX) and Michele Bachmann (MN), former Gov. Jon Huntsman, and former Sen. Rick Santorum.
“So you really think your personal well being is more important than our freedom?”
I think that MY life is more important than MY freedom.
“I have children and grandchildren and I want them to grow up in a free society. We have too many politicians pushing us down the road to socialism and who see our liberties as an inconvenience.”
Do you personally have the means available to you to protect/save them from a 9/11 style attack? If not, then is it your position that they should be placed at risk because the potential terrorist deserves his liberty more than your descendants deserve to live, or that maybe there are parts of the Patriot Act that aren’t all that bad after all?
Huntsman reminds me of Dukakis in the way he carries himself. Same mannerisms and sounds like a big phony.
Yep, Cain nailed the immigration question. It all begins with enforcement.
Ron Paul has the Hamas vote locked in..they give him two thumbs up
He's back on my list despite the Freddie Mac graft.
Look up the world out puts.
And I would be shocked to find that we get the bulk of or oil from Syria.
Herman Cain...doing the homework others won't do.
The one thing we can ALL agree on is the click of the channel before True Teabagger Anderson Cooper comes on
G’night all - support your guy (or gal) and be thankful we have the chance to do so, and to express our opinions openly like this.
And remember, any one of them would be preferable to Obama.
Hey, if more bombings occur and more people die, we can at least say we were minding our own business.
CAIN WON’T DEPORT ANYONE! You Cain folks are RIDICULOUS in trying to use this when your guy is to Gingrich’s LEFT on immigration.
This was an informative debate and really quite good in allowing us to hear the candidates positions.
Though it was clear Wolf gave Ron Paul far too much time for his idiotic responses....they so much want to keep him in the race because they know he’s the vote changer...splitting it or going third party.
Winners tonight:
1. Newt
2. Romney & Perry (tie)
3. Cain & Bachman (tie)
4. Ron Paul
5. Santorum
6. The ambassador in Shy-Na.
SOP for him.
Not!
On wolf’s treatment of Cain: remember him during Katrina, narrating the images of the people of N.O. struggling through their flooded town. “they are so very poor, and so very black.”.
And then he repeated the questions to Herman like to a preschooler.
Donna is so biased.
Unfortunalty, he is about to pass Perry in the polling (or Perry on his way down is about to pass Paul) which will no doubt energize Paul and his campaign.
