The war on drugs has just increased the anti-liberty forces (think local SWAT - homeland funded). I'm not a stoner, and am quite anti-illicit drug, but the war on drugs has been a dismal failure, and an extremely costly one at that.
I have to ask if you support the BATFE? I think they should be abolished for the same reason.
I'm not a Libertarian, but a realist. Further, I think Reagan should have been a tad more conservative.

He’s right - our immigration policy needs to favor those who can add real value. We need to attract engineers, scientists, etc. Bachman making excellent comments on this as well, quoting Steve Jobs.

Perry: In 12 months well secure those borders... Paul: We subsidize them, why in hell would they not come?
We subsidize them because of FEDERAL law. The Justice department just sued Utah over their immigration policy. I think that makes 5 states now.

Newt: Illegal aliens are honorable

Noot is pro-amnesty. No thanks.
To: South40
Cain...Not a hint of amnesty. He said we needed to provide 'a clear path to citizenship'...that could mean anything..including amnesty.

It is between Gingrich, Romney and Perry. The others do not have a chance. Just an opinion.

Here comes the immigration question. The Reps will adhere to the party line and say we need more legal immigrants and a guest worker program. The fact is that we have 1.2 million legal immigrants who enter this country every year.
And we still are bringing in 125,000 legal foreign workers a month now--that includes permanent immigrants and those on a temporary work visas.
Newt is bad on immigration. He wants to legalize the illegals. Wow. Now Newt is preaching amnesty. Any legislation that allows illegals to stay and work here is an amensty.
We can have a merit based immigration system and not the kinship system we have.
Newt is talking thru his hat about military service. Illegal aliens are not allowed into the US military.

No he is correcting your misunderstanding...
Newt now responding to Bachman’s ‘elitist” response about how we want the “intelligent scientists, not all the illegals.”.

Yay, Michelle.
Newt is lost on the issue; he is so deeply a politician, doesn’t want to offend any constituency.
To: rintense
Seems to be a lot of candidates that suck on this topic, who have never actually had to deal with it.
