10. Julia Roberts

9. Brad Pitt

8. Will Ferrell

7. Viggo Mortensen

6. Robert DeNiro

5. Zoe Saldana

4. Matt Damon

3. Halle Barry

2. Cameron Diaz

1. Sean Penn

I disagree with # 10- Should be Jennifer Lopez instead.

9 out of 10 Hollywood denizens are useless. The last group of people from which you’d want to choose a person with whom you’d be stranded on a desert isle.

Number One should be Tom Cruise. I have never seen him play anything except Tom Cruise. He’s exactly the same in every movie. He’s about a versatile as a beach ball, and about as entertaining.

I disagree with putting Jack Nicholson and Hoffman on the list. Nicholson was delightfully disgusting in Witches of Eastwick and Hoffman was the first actor to actually prove to me that acting was a craft in Rainman. He was absolutely brilliant in that role.

Take any ten today . . . ‘actors’ or ‘musicians’

Can’t hold a candle to yesteryear. Good thing for kids today they’ve got other attractions because they sure dont have the movies or music the Baby Boomers could enjoy.

Other than Zoe Saldana, I agree with your list. I would put Tom Cruise there.

I think Robert Redford is the most overrated actor of all time. He’s a pretty good director, but as an actor? A slab of meat. Complete dullfest. Nuthin’ visible going on in that brain. I can’t imagine how he became such a star.

7. Viggo Mortensen

He was a snooze in LOTR — terribly miscast. I thought he was just a bad actor. But then I realized he’d been miscast in LOTR when I saw him in “A History of Violence.” WOW!! What a performance. Some actors will prevail no matter where you put them ... but some actors need the right vehicle. LOTR was NOT it for him.

Please show me where anybody from Hollywierd is worthy of anything, except being so out of touch it defies logic!

I thought Brad Pitt was great in “13 Monkeys”. His crazy scene/monologue was brilliant and looks like it was filmed as one take, not clipped. If so, he really learned some very hard lines, moves, and looks.

DeNiro is also very good, and I must admit that Sean Penn can act - actually he is quite versatile (and leftist crazy).

Still think Julia Roberts is very pretty and sassy. Not bad as Erin Brockevich.

Halle Barry just looks good no matter what role she is playing. Sometimes it is nice to see a woman look like a woman and not a man-imitator.

Any movie star who claims to be an actor is overrated.

My beef with hollywood actors is the way all the most famous ones read the parts for animated films. As if their famous faces are needed. As if their aren’t people quite talented in voice whose faces are not known. It seems rather piggish of the famous ones.

No way you can even get started with 10 names. The list has to have at least 200 names to cover the top 20 percent.

I didn’t get very far until I decided the author was clueless. Dustin Hoffman overrated? The Graduate, Rain Man, Marathon Man? Sorry, the guy is good at what he does.

Hepburn? He’s never seen Lion in Winter.

Hell, he even slams Bill Murry for being great in comedy but nothing else. That’s a lot like criticizing Mohamed Ali because his dunk needs work.

Nicholson? This Shapiro kid is just mad.
