WASHINGTON (AP) — Country music gets its due at the Obama White House next week.
The Obamas will play host to a string of country stars — legendary and contemporary — Monday at their seventh “In Performance at the White House” program.
Some of the performers also will take part in an afternoon workshop at the White House for 120 local students about the history of country music and its cultural significance.

The country stars who go to this will pay a price. I guess it is hard to decline an invitation to the White House, but they will piss off their fans big time. Except Lyle Lovett and James Taylor, who aren’t country.

Where do we see the list of artists who will be there?
I saw him at a book reading in a blue state (he writes those lesbo hating mysteries) and he was telling about an appearance at a Barnes and Noble bookstore in Kansas City where he had a guitar with him, and intoned “They Don’t make Jews...” provoking a mini riot among the blue haired ladies who came to see him.
I’m sure that Barry and Michelle have quite a mix of country, rap, and hip hop on their iPods.
I think it would be a nice gesture if he invited Hank William Jr.
Next on the agenda, Obama will have a Hitler Festival in the Rose Garden.
