(Reuters) - Presidential candidate Newt Gingrich has roared into the lead of the Republican nominating race, brushing off concerns about his work for a troubled housing company, a Reuters/Ipsos poll showed.

Twenty-four percent of registered Republican voters would support the former speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives if the contest were held now, an increase of 8 percentage points from roughly a week ago, according to the poll, which was conducted on November 18-19.

Mitt Romney, the former Massachusetts governor who has stayed near the top of most polls, garnered support from 22 percent of Republicans, slumping 6 percentage points from the last survey conducted on November 10-11 and ending up essentially tied with Gingrich.

Despite allegations of questionable business ties, Gingrich is the latest favorite of conservative Republicans eager for an alternative to Romney, whom they see as too moderate.

It makes ya sick don’t it?

I liked Newt for a long time until he proved me wrong about him.

Just stop mentioning the troll’s name, It keys all of it's responses from posts to it. All of it's posts come from the main headers and it goes to #1 to respond. And you get one out of 10 standard answers, minus any minor editing, to give the illusion that the responses are original.

This requires some detective work, but it seems to fit the classic profile of a pathological Sociopath, does it not?

Perhaps you should get to know MNJ a little bit better. He has been posting on the Sunday tv Talk Show Thread for years and is one of the smartest posters we have there. You may not always agree with him but he knows his stuff and in the grand scheme of all things FR he usually documents most of what he says.

Why can’t you post directly to the post you are responding to?

Do you have a physical or MENTAL handicap that prevents you from doing this, or is it just another way for you to be rude, frustrate and disrupt FR?

Dunno, he posts nothing but venom, invective and spam in the threads I’ve seen him in. He’s become quite well known for his angry and often nonsensical posts. It doesn’t even look like he reads any of the replies to him as he never counters with much other than more spam (usually directed at #1 instead of the people trying to communicate with him).

You are right. It is cruel of me to insist you Newt bots maintain at least a distant contact with reality.

I'm afraid you are asking to much for the Newtie Tooties to grasp reality. They do sound an awfully lot like the late, and not lamented, Rudy Tooties.

what?

I don’t even understand what you just said.

Do you mean to say that you will only vote for someone who has vowed to attack Iran if elected?

because... I don’t recall anyone vowing to attack Iran if elected.

I'm anything but a Newt bot. I just see him as the brightest of the bunch.

But,that does not always translate into doing the right thing as many have proved beyond a doubt on this thread.

When it comes to trust I really don't trust any of the current candidates to do the right thing all the time. They just don't have what it takes like others here would. I trust those of us in the New Media in the blogosphere more than I trust any of those running for office.

At that point the challenge is to get our guys to do the right thing which is always a challenge.

Hopefully, if we get both houses and the Presidency they will be out of excuses for not doing the right thing and will think in terms of what is good for the country instead of what is good for getting re-elected.

Either way we have to be their guides. We have to be the conscience of those in office. They definitely need our guidance.

It's up to us to be on target every time since they never will.Newt remains 80/20 probably as good as we will get. So he's as good as any running and brighter than most. Not a rousing Marco Rubio/Sarah Palin endorsement from me but the best I can muster.

Before getting on the Gingrich Train Wreck, people need to read Jack Abramoff’s book entitled “Capital Punishment,” the facts about Gingrich are absolutely Terrible! This guy is arrogant and totally uncontrolled it appears! No wonder he has been married three times and counting!
I’ll believe Abramoff and do more research on “Newt” before I will give him my vote. And I will never trust him after seeing him sit on the couch with
Bugeyes Piglousy touting Global Warming!

Using Abramoff as a source to help you decide your vote is crazy.

MNJohnnie is a champion of conservatives and will support his choice with all he has. He many not please us with every post but he hates the left, will fight them forever, and cherishes what we all hold dear.

Personally, I hate infighting. I wish we all just picked an enemy, say the far left, and targeted our venom toward them.

Let’s correct the statement:

Obam’s 9% unemployment!

It’s really 20 plus % unemployment when you stop playing the Washington Accounting Games! It’s equal to the levels in the Great Depression!

Why isn’t our dear GOP screamin this from the roof tops?

Not at all. Often the only truth we hear about organized corruption is when one of the players gets caught and spills their guts. It's true of the corrupt politicians and lobbyists no less that it's true of their brothers in the mafia.

There is one sure way to spot democrat trolls - their use of adjectives - mindless stupid etc - and calling people names. There are a few on the newt threads regularly. They probably alternate between trolling and standing in line at the OWS cafeteria tent. All the republican candidates are heads and shoulders above any democrat, esp Barack. We need to remind each other of that sometimes.

John is really a great guy. Many don’t know it but he married a freeper and they met on here. She is a great gal from Atlanta and they both are true conservatives concerned about the welfare of the country.
