To be a conservative, you must support and protect the sanctity of marriage. Newt CLEARLY is on the wrong side of this.

I agree...but, really, does it matter that much right now? 15 trillion dollars says it doesn’t.

“To be a conservative, you must support and protect the sanctity of marriage.”

Who wrote that rule, you? I don’t think that’s correct... Half the people in this country get divorced and 70% are conservative.

Newt helped write DOMA. The bill passed and was signed into law by Bill Clinton.

Rush Limbaugh, too...I think he’s on his 4th marriage. And he’s not a conservative??? Give me a break.

One can support and protect the sanctity of marriage and be a conservative.

One can also divorce, due to impossible to resolve conflicts that may surface later in the marriage, and still support and protect the sanctity of marriage, as well as still have conservative principles and values.

Sometimes a divorce is better all around, and returns sanity to people's lives.
