Romney and Cain took some well-deserved shots at the occupiers today too but heres Gingrich ramping it up with a base-pleasing tea-party contrast. Between soundbites like this and the occasional roundhouse at debate moderators, Im starting to believe those Rasmussen numbers.
Just one question: Is a guy who got paid big bucks to push expensive new government health-care programs really going to emerge as the tea-party candidate? If you missed Timothy Carneys report on Gingrichs work for the pharmaceutical lobby while Bush was pushing his Medicare prescription-drug expansion, read it now. Quote:
While the Bush White House and the Republican congressional leadership supported a bill creating a new entitlement for all seniors, Washington conservatives mostly opposed the bill. Gingrich went around Washington at the time plumping for the bill to free-market groups and activists.

I’ve never heard that the tea Party has backed New Gingrich. He is really qwuite liberl!
Thanks Nachum.
He’ll be a great attack dog, iow, a running mate — just as that snarly bitch Mondale was the perfect running mate for the mellow liar and loser, Carter.
Hey Newt, why don’t you explain your support for DeDe NY-23, the RINO, over the Nations first unofficial Tea Party Candidate, Doug Hoffman.
You were incapable of seeing the beginnings of the Tea Party, in Doug Hoffmans run. You were blind to the changing winds.
You and the establishment GOP hacks undermined Hoffman.
U are NO Tea Party leader.
Don’t tell the Newtbots that. Newt has wiped their memories clean of reality.
The numbers I saw indicate that he was paid a little more than $175,000 per year - that’s not so huge for someone with an idea machine for a brain.
good video
He is forced to resign from Congress and what does he do? Open a “consulting” firm in DC. Advising Lobbyist how to use his “historic” information on Congress to get what they want.
His consulting firm racks million of dollars using his intellectual, historical insight during his time in Congress. I call this intellectual insider-trading.
I don't know about any other Tea Party Members that worked diligently to get young new blood elected to Congress in 2010 to represent our ideals, but I will not let Newt Gingrich claim knows the values of the Tea Party, because he has no idea of what our ideals are...
Electing Gringrich as POTUS is like letting The Fox back into the hen house. He is a manipulator par excellent.
Got that right. If the Newtbots think that DC Hacks like Newtus Agustus, the ultimate DC Hack, is the answer, this country is truly finished. It is my belief we have already crossed the point of no return, regardless of who wins the GOP nomination and regardless of if we win the Presidency.
Only a complete new group can save this country.
Bonehead is terrible. Cantor is just as bad.
Yoo dun't sayh?
I feel your pain on Newt, but you should know a few things.
First, he is running very strong among tea party voters in Iowa and nationwide. Came in a strong second to Cain at the Florida Tea Party Convention straw poll event.
Second, he has explained NY 23 and the Pelosi global warming thing - now, you may not like or accept it, but he has addressed it.
Your points are valid, but they have been addressed and a lot of tea party folks are willing to look back to 94.
Jim Kouri, vice president of the National Assn. of Chiefs of Police, has assembled a group of traits that define psychopathic personalities like serial killers and has discovered that these trait also apply to many of todays politicians.

Do you know who Dick Armey is?
Do u not understand, he is part of the same DC Class (Past and Present) that has caused this country’s death spiral?
Ok, he’s a lot better than Obama. And so are all the other GOP candidates. And sure I will vote for any GOP candidate.
But how is that going to stop this death spiral when we are a divided country. It won’t. The supercommittee is deadlocked.
The house is voting on a phoney balanced budget admendment.
Ok, so we get a majority in the senate. Then u will have the McCain and the 14 gangsters raise their ugly heads to clog up the system.
An endless cycle that will do nothing to stop the coming collapse.
O, i c u 2.
