The latest in the series of televised debates among the candidates for the Republican nomination for President is scheduled for tonight.
The debate is taking place at Wofford College in Spartanburg, S.C., and will focus on national security and foreign policy.
The debate is being hosted by CBS News and the National Jo urnal, and will begin at 8 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on the CBS Television Network.

The good thing about these debates is they are limiting the topics so that they can go more in depth.
If someone says again that Newt is the “smartest guy in the room” I’m going to hurl. IMHO, it isn’t even true.
Right, like "explain health care reform in 30 seconds".
National Journal is more of the same... Democrats, progressives, Leftist thinkers and writers. Expect questions framed favoring that viewpoint.
btt
Thanks for the thread!!!!
So who gets voted off the island tonight?
I am disgusted even FNC is on the anti-Cain bandwagon full-tilt. A few minutes ago the black female newscaster (don`t know her name) was trashing Cain and gleefully announcing his lessened support from women. And who does she bring on to bolster her position but Susan Estrich, with no one to offer a counterpoint.
Fair and balanced?
Newt is the smartest guy in the room. :)
What are the odds Lindsay Graham will ask a homosexuality-related question? Just wonderin’...
This election seems more like reality TV and an election of huge importance. I think we are screwed.
...As the “media” and their DNC masters await the Mother Of All Gaffes for Cain in the foreign policy arena which they hope will slice the throat of his candidacy.
Keep in mind Fox News is not a conservative news station (though they cater to conservatives that are ignored by the other news stations). They are owned by non-conservative, globalist Rupert Murdoch. They’d be happy with a Romney or some such stealth candidate.
I don't buy it. Anyone who supported such obviously dumb politicies such as TARP, the Global Warming scam, No Child Left Behind, the Prescription Drugs Boondogle, and No Fly Zones for Libya can't by any objective standard, be "the smartest guy in the room." The person on that stage who was right on all these issues, on the other hand, is far more likely to be "smartest guy in the room."
Anyone think there will be “Occupy” idiots disrupting?? The upstate of SC is one of the most Conservative areas of out state but being on a College Campus and in Spartanburg I wonder....(Nothing against Spartanburg but it can have it’s Crazies)
I'd wager that 90+% of the peoples out there are paying no, zero, not a bit of attention to the debates.
And of course...
“Herman Cain`s lack of political experience was bared tonight as he failed to convince viewers he is anything other than a neophyte in this critical area. Cain`s disastrously abysmal performance in the debate, combined with his obvious guilt as a serial sex offender, spurred calls for him to end his failed, scandal-ridden campaign.”
That`s the template the “media” will work from.
I hope that they give the candidates more than 30-60 seconds to answer some of the tougher questions, if they really want the answers.
All except Romney of course
;)
