I really wish people would stop saying that everybody knew. There is zero evidence for this. Joe Paterno was informed of an incident involving an unknown victim and an ex-employee, which he reported to his superior and the head of campus police. He put the witness in touch with them. Those are the facts as we know them and as they were presented to the grand jury.
why didn’t he follow up? why didn’t he make sure something was done? WHY DID NO ONE FIND OUT IF THE LITTLE BOY THAT THE DEFENSIVE COACH WITNESSED BEING RAPED, HAD JUSTICE?
No concern for the little boys...so sad
Sandusky certainly didn’t behave as someone who was afraid of getting caught. He was raping boys in the locker room shower. He took them to say overnight with him in hotels on team outings. He was actually very open in his behavior which is why he was witnessed multiple times, however, he was never stopped.
Keeper...the coaching staff knew as of 1998. The former sports editor of State College's newspaper says so (Bracken). Barry Switzer says so -- in context of how college coaching community is a "tight" group.
And here nobody would hire THE top defensive coach in the country who was only 55 when he became available.
Obviously, Sandusky had the football credentials; the public resume'. Some officials @ other schools were in the know beyond that. It's not to say they knew specifics; but they knew enough rumblings.
