Small business owners and local residents fed up with the Occupiers at Zuccotti Park in New York City are planning a counterprotest and news conference of their own Monday, to make clear the crowd has long overstayed its welcome and that businesses will not survive if the occupation continues.

Meanwhile, The Gothamist and Cranes NY reports OWS plans to shut down the ringing of the bell on the NYSE on the 17th, fan out through the city, occupy transportation hubs and occupy the subways and give the 1% a party they will never forget. I don’t plan on traveling in to work on the 17th-— NY subways are already overcrowded, no place for silly games
Any other group would be in major violations of NYC zoning laws- public park or private plaza’s there are zoning laws that every single New Yorker has encountered, but these laws are not being enforced in OWS in Zuccoti Park.
