Via Mediaite, what do you think? You think the famously cautious Romney would be willing to start his term with a nasty confirmation hearing featuring lots of mud-slinging by Democrats about sexual harassment? You think a President Perry or President Gingrich would be any more eager for that? (Newt seems more inclined towards a John Bolton type, which would present problems of a different sort.) Ironically, Cains a better prospect for VP now than he is for a cabinet position precisely because thats the only path to power left for him that would avoid the need for congressional approval.
Heres a list of Romneys foreign policy and national security advisors, incidentally. Chertoff, Hayden, Cofer Black: All respect to Cain for his Navy work, but somehow I dont see President Mitt installing an establishment outsider atop the defense pyramid when he has a stable like that. Given his economic focus and personal charm, Cain would be better off with an ambassadorship. What about Ubeki-beki-beki-beki-stan-stan? (Yes, I know, ambassadors need to be confirmed too.)

So that’s the fix. Cain is just in this to run DOD. WE ALL KNEW IT!!!!!
LOL.
Cain’s path to power, as you put it, is the same as it was: hold steady and win.
I love Cain, he’s not my #1 (Perry is, for pragmatic, not fanatic reasons) but why does Cain have to consider any lesser posts when he’s ahead of Romney all over the country?
How about making Romney President Cain’s Secretary of Health and Human Services..
and then closing the Department down along with Department of Education, and Commerce.
Sounds like a workable solution.
Great question. Last I heard, he was at the top of the polls. The other candidates should be jockeying for position in Cain’s cabinet (if we were simply looking at the current poll status).
Cain said IF he were asked to take a Cabinet post, BY ANY GOP President, he would like to head DOD. But I know, don't expect factual accuracy or any intellectual honest from the GOP-bot media.
In my world I would have Bolton as VP and doing the foreign glad handing (maybe not so glad LoL)
Seems Bolton is a good worker and not a superstar.
I’d like to see Cain run the Department of Commerce, Education, and uh...lemme see now....what was the third one?....OH! And Energy. He could run all three of them simultaneously because all three should be shut down!
Cain was asked by radio host Mike Savage, IF he were asked to take a Cabinet post, BY ANY GOP President, what he would like to head? Cain said he would like to run DOD.
As usual the GOPEstablishement media is simply making up their own facts.

Yes, I think that would drive the point home about how the public feels about Obamacare and Romneycare. :-)
Good old Hot Air. You can always count on them to be a good little GOPbot propaganda outlet. Cain never said any such thing.

Sorry, but for Romney to get in, he has to have votes, and I don't plan to vote for him. I will write in Sarah Palin if you are not the candidate.
sincerely,
Redhead
Although Cain is my number one choice, he sounds like he thinks Mitt has a chance. If true, he has a defeatist attitude ... I will have to rethink my opinion.
Is there an implicit threat for the GOP ol’ boys to pull out even longer knives on him?
How about making Romney the Chief Executive of a weather station in the Aleutian Islands?
More Common-Sense Cain...and much to the Libs' horror.
He's not for getting out of the U.N., but would tell them to get an "attitude adjustment".
Why he's even discussing being anyone's VP or cabinet member is crazy, as the frontrunner. He should be saying what types he'd be having for HIS VP/Cabinet member.
Yup DOD is his bailywick.
Incoming pepperoni!
Fire the anti pasto!
Romney would be a good commerce secretary for about a month; or the amount of time it would take to get rid of that department.
