Mike McQueary, the assistant Nittany Lions coach who told a grand jury that in 2002 he saw former coach Jerry Sandusky sexually assault a young boy, has been placed on administrative leave. The move was announced by Penn State Interim President Rod Erickson at a news conference that began at 4 p.m.

“This will be final game of the season for Penn State”
I rather doubt that. There is TOO MUCH MONEY at stake.
“Oh yeah, maybe face charges too. He would in my state.”
I thought employees of all schools in all States had a duty to report. He should be facing jail time.
A few thoughts.
Why did the school not contact the cops?
Paterno did what he was legally required to.
McQ did what he was legally required to.
Sandusky should have been shot not fired, but why did the school let him continue to live on campus with locker room privileges.
The rumor is sandusky was pimping out the kids to high $ donors.
There was a desert named the sandusky an upside-down ice cream cone with 2 scoops(think about it)
What’s up with the missing now declared dead straight up DA who disappeared in 2005, under very odd circumstances after not being able to indite sandusky.
given what I already know, the entire athletic program should be disbanded the staff terminated and allowed to go dormant for at least 4 years. PA is going to pay hundreds of millions on this.
Has he called his dad yet?
Has he called his dad yet?
“McQ did what he was legally required to.”
As in, he immediately went to the cops? I don’t know, I’m asking.
I would have never guessed that Mike McQueary would be making Front Page news on Free Republic.
Anyone who knew and didn’t stop it should be in prison, not just fired.
under pa law he did what was legally required.
BTW seems spanier is still possibly a prof and his wife is as well, all he lost was the presidency.
McQueary’s acts of omission were horrendous, but nothing as bad as the other three. Furthermore he was the only one that stood before the grand jury and testified to the whole ugly mess. If he didn’t testify like he did maybe this goes on for another 10 years. Yes, he made a terrible mistake, but he’s the only one showing any spine right now so I’m cutting him a little slack. He will be destroyed by his testimony and he had to know that at the time.
How are they protecting them now? (since the release of the grand jury report)
Gee folks, all the pedophile homo appeasers get paid leave.
What a country!
... he managed to get a coaching position. If he had not kept quiet his PSU career was over.
The rot of humanity. Legal requirements give people a pass from any moral duty.
Very sad.
He actually SAW a little boy getting raped and not only didn’t stop it, but didn’t immediately dial 911? Wow. Just wow.
Did McQueary confront Sandusky at all? Did he say anything at the time to Sandusky? If not, then that would seem to give Sandusky an alibi or excuse on this. He (McQueary) said, he said (Sandusky said ... I was going to say “rebuts” but that didn’t sound quite right).
Is McQueary married? I have read nothing about a wife or family of his own. That might raise some eyebrows, too ... especially since McQueary knew Sandusky when he was a child.
His career there being over back then would have been a blessing compared to now.
I’ve wondered did McQueary’s daddy ever ask him “Whatever happened about that deal where you reported Sandusky in the shower with the little boy?”
Nope, not bashing McQueary. I know what it’s like to witness something or, in my case be a victim, and in the position of remaining quiet for my own well being.
The “higher-ups” seem to be in major CYA mode now.
