--In the Republican race for the presidential nomination, Newt Gingrichs support continues to slowly grow, and he is now tied with Mitt Romney for second place, while Herman Cain just edges both of them out for the top spot. Both Cain and Romney have lost support since late October.
--But the race could still change; seven in 10 Republican primary voters say it is still too early to say for sure which candidate they will support.
--Cain has lost support among women since late October. Then, he led among women, garnering 28% of their support. Now, his support among women is just 15%. He has also lost ground with conservatives, from 30% to 23% now. And there has been some movement among Tea Party supporters as well; their support for Cain has declined from 32% to 19%. Romney has lost support among men, while Gingrichs support among that group has increased 8 points
It worked for President Thompson, didn't it?
This is exactly right.
I personally am no longer interested in electing profesisonal politicians to be my leader.
Citizen Cain is exactly what I am looking for.
I am doing with politicians, political parties, all that. I do not trust any of them whatsoever.
Cain is giving an excellent interview on FOX. Need to post the video when it becomes available.
Where are the polls showing Cain gaining since Nov 1st? Do you have some links?
I love the way you guys just label anyone who says anything about Cain’s flaws a “bot”. Now I’m a Romney bot, even though I’ve never supported him in any way? Get real.
Hey, I’m the guy that posted the vanity that I gave $100 to Newt last night.
Just checking in to say “Hello!” to all the Caniacs.
wow...did I miss that in this link!? Really 85%!
Me 2.
Soft poll -> soft political news cycle dominated by non-political news -> Unhappy Valley, etc. NBD.
Second, Comparing Newt to Bush in terms of communication skills is laughable. Bush was one notch above Perry--one small notch.
Third, establishing that Newt has faults is easy--and meaningless. All the candidates have glaring flaws. That's how it is that among rational observers, someone such as Newt could be rising towards the lead.
Newt is going to have a chance with voters like me--dispassionate voters who don't seek or need an emotional attachment to a candidate. Those who don't delude themselves into the political form of Beatlemania that is all too common these days.
We have options. We weigh them. We choose. It is typically distasteful, because that's politics. But rational people deal with it rationally, dispassionately.
er shoot..
“Doing” = done -_-
My picks, in order:
Newt
Herman
...
...
...
We will know in a few months. But unless GOP voters rid themselves of the “let’s nominate this guy because it’s his turn” mindset, it’ll be Mitt.
Time for Santorum and Huntsman to drop out.
Apparently you did miss it.
Read it however you wish -- that's what CBS is doing.
Yup, McCain too. Too bad we can’t have McCain back.

My father, former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, has been in politics as long as I can remember.
And as long as I can remember, media coverage about him has contained misstatements of facts. The vast majority are simple mistakes that are easily corrected, understood and rewoven into an ongoing storyline.
But one of them seems to have taken on a life of its own, and simple corrections have not sufficed to set the record straight. Why does this happen? I can't be sure, but I suspect that the narrative created by these untruths proves to be so much more compelling and more dramatic than what actually happened that it proves irresistible.
I'm talking about the story of my father's visit to my mother while she was in the hospital in 1980.
For years, I have thought about trying to correct the untrue accounts of this hospital visit. After all, I was at the hospital with them, and saw and heard what happened. But I have always hesitated, as it was a private family matter and my mother is a very private person. In addition, for the four people involved, it was one of a million interactions and was not considered a defining event by any of us.
My mother and I have both recently run into quite a few people who hold an inaccurate understanding of this hospital visit. Many think my mother is dead.
No way a fat , old pasty faced white guy with tons of baggage can beat the young , slick Barack Obama considering the current mental state of the average American .
Newt is a great choice for those who thought that McCain’s biggest problem was not enough adultery.
Gingrich / Cain = McCain / Thompson
Even though Gingrich is not in any way tea party, Cain is sure to endorse.
Much like Fred endorsed McCain 4 years ago.
Fool me once ...
