First, I didn't make any mistake on Bush in 2000. I didn't vote for him in the primaries (or the general election.)

Second, Comparing Newt to Bush in terms of communication skills is laughable. Bush was one notch above Perry--one small notch.

Third, establishing that Newt has faults is easy--and meaningless. All the candidates have glaring flaws. That's how it is that among rational observers, someone such as Newt could be rising towards the lead.

Newt is going to have a chance with voters like me--dispassionate voters who don't seek or need an emotional attachment to a candidate. Those who don't delude themselves into the political form of Beatlemania that is all too common these days.

We have options. We weigh them. We choose. It is typically distasteful, because that's politics. But rational people deal with it rationally, dispassionately.
