Unlike Obama, Cain doesn’t throw people under the bus
I never thought the Ramsey's had anything to do with JonBenet's murder. John Ramsey was explaining why he hired an attorney so early in the case because his "lawyering up" was perceived as guilt. Why should he? A friend had to shock him into reality. "John, they think you are guilty. They will look no further. This is not about you innocence or guilt, it is about your LIFE." (paraphrased)
Herman Cain's character is his best asset. What is he supposed to do? Sit around waiting for his character to be completely destroyed before hiring an attorney? A person innocent of any charge (either in a court of alw or the court of public opinion) needs a lawyer more than the guilty.
No way will Lin Wood understimate Gloria Allred.
Atlanta attorney Lin Wood hired to defend Cain
By Bill Torpy Tuesday, November 8, 2011
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Lin Wood, the Atlanta lawyer hired by Herman Cain to defend him against multiple sexual harassment accusations, is the pit bull you have chained to a stake guarding your house.
That observation came from Steve Sadow, another Atlanta lawyer, who calls Wood the best libel/defamation lawyer in the country.
Wood, 59, has the track record, working different sides of highly charged cases involving Richard Jewell, JonBenet Ramsey, Kobe Bryant and U.S. Rep. Gary Condit....(excerpt)

BTW: x-spurt, what was your previous freeper name?
Never said he should not defend himself. He certainly should, but there is a surefire way to shut down the allegations without resorting to some intimidation ploy. With all the blind support he is seeing, maybe he thought he could bring on an Intimidator to shut down ALL VETTING because those blinded by his light wont care.
The way Woods was out front in the presser was no different than sitting down at the Poker table and putting your pistol on the table for all to see, “just to defend yourself”.
All he would need to do is show clear evidence or objective witnesses that he was never in any situation where the allegations could have occurred. End of story. Even Allred would have to fold.
He will never win out in any she said-he said scenario, as just the possibility he may be even a tiny bit guilty is creating a unfavorable view from voters in general and women voters in particular.
The way Cain or his campaign staff responded throughout enabled someone like Allred to enter the mess. Was their Keystone Cops rendition helpful?
BTW noted your little of BTW bullying, I can tell you X-spurt just fell off the tater wagon. Not that that detracts from any point I made.
Then this conversation is over, because you are a proven dangerous fool. The OBVIOUS public perception of such a lawsuit against women of modest means would have Cain appear to be a petty bully. He is correct in staying above it unless the case is so cut and dry that the enemy settles quickly.
Honest, direct question. Not bullying. Your posts give you away. It has nothing to do with your opinions, but your posting style and certain phrases.
I don’t know about a “tater truck” but I can assure you I did not just fall off the turnip truck. :)
Maybe my observations since about the same time as you signed on may have me emulating some writings I found worthwhile. No intent on try to standout, just trying to remain unbiased while wanting to add some common sense to the discussions.
I have also observed the disdain toward some who previously had posting privileges terminated rightly or wrongly.
A petty bully? Modest means?
Please.
I'll concede I'm a dangerous fool if you insist that you're the opposite. I kind of like the "dangerous" part anyway.
No, you just trash talk both FReepers and Herman Cain.
and defending a sexual assaulter. That's alleged sexual assaulter, with the accusers not presenting a single shred of evidence to support their stale-dated allegations.
I have a life
Good thing, because as some other FReepers have noted, you'll probably not be spending much time here.
Oops; sorry; was confusing you with another poster. Need my coffee.

Notice she is smiling most of the time—little disheveled as well? She seems right in her element, relaxed as if she is really enjoying all this.
The legal protection is against further defamation which seems to run rampid throughout the media. However, the media does have money and has been sued before and settled. Cain, I am sure, is well aware there is no money to be made in a suit against a woman who has less than most; but still she resides in the same Chicago building as Axelrod?..where everyone knows everyone?[quote]
Lin Wood is just watching out for Cain's best interests while the candidate goes about doing "his business".
No one will probably ever know what happened, much less care; as is his word against hers. Eventually, attention will tire when they can't fish up any more accusers; but Mr. Cain has all reason to protect himself if the root of all this originates from people who want to influence voters/primary results or an election through illegal acts of fraud.
Newt has moved up the ladder and looks better than he ever did before. The media is taking note and he said he expects soon his background will be drudged up again; but perhaps not as old news not new discovery.
Bite me troll.
I can’t believe you still have an account on Free Republic.
Depends on your definition of filth.
You sure spew it with hate here.
...And the sink minds...
Just can't stop thinking about Clinton can you? You wearing a Freudian slip today?
LOL!
That might be a mite personal...heh
Good move by Cain and yes, you are right, the media seems to have moved on to other things.
Not because they disbelieve those whores. No. Not for a minute.
Notice I didn’t get any more replies after that...
A woman with a guy’s name just has to have issues.
I agree with you, and that scares me for two reasons:
God only knows what they've dredged up about him-- true or false-- and the minute he's a serious contender he'll be broadsided.
Second, and more important-- there's a part of me that wants this mess out of the way, and if throwing Cain under the bus clears the road for us, well, adios Cain. That's what we think, but it's wrong, as point one points out, and it rewards these execrable tactics.
As long as this trick works, the dems will use it; the object of their defamation campaign--whoever he or she might be-- can try to "rise above it", but like dog manure your shoe, you'll never be rid of it until you've scrubbed it with soap, water and bleach. It's about the smell. The public may consciously or rationally reject the charge, but they'll always wonder about that strange, distant and unpleasant aroma that seems to follow the him or her. You've heard it said "believe none of what you hear, and half of what you see..." Here's an addendum: "... and anything you smell."
How to stop this? For us there is only one way: legally, in broad daylight and within the arena the founders created expressly for this purpose. Who should be the defendant? Obviously the party who defamed him. It wasn't the press, it was a handful of individuals who knew full well what they were about.
That's good; it makes things easy for Cain because it's these backstabbers, these "women of modest means" and not the press that he has to beat in court. Hopefully this foray into the limelight will make these modest-meaned gals modester still.
But if Cain doesn't reply in kind he won't be a problem for much longer. Hopefully long after I'm gone a notice of his passing will show up in the Times. It will read: "Herman Cain, former presidential candidate charged with sexual harassment..."
