District Attorneys commonly choose not to prosecute. Its possible that he didn't think he could win the case in court.

True. But Sandusky has now been charged with molesting the boy in 1998 using the same evidence.

Sandusky has been charged because of a whole lot more evidence than what was available to Gricar in 1998. I'm not sure that the current DA would be involved with this case based on the 1998 evidence if it weren't for the additional evidence acquired since 1998.

Then the police were derelict in not investigating this. It was happening in plain site in the public showers for crying out loud. People say it but were afraid to talk about it. I’m sure plenty of people would have been relieved to tell the police about it if they’d just done their duty and asked some questions.

I read in another report that the hard disk to Gricar’s laptop was later found in a river in the area where he disappeared, but the data on it was unreadable.

Definitely sounds like foul play, unless he himself dumped the evidence he had collected and then disappeared for his own safety.

It’s certainly possible that there was some other case that might have been the reason for this, but since it seems that the Sandusky case is branching out further and further, it could be that he had reason to fear what he had found.
