What the “swells in the media” are actually saying, Cain didn’t respond the way they wanted him to respond. Afterall, politics is the sole purview of the media.
It would be suspicious if Mr. Cain would have had ready-made slick responses to accusations when he is not guilty of them. For example, most of the candidates, I would hope, don’t have prepared strategies at hand in case they get accused of murder or armed robbery. Such accusations, assumedly, would find them off-balance, searching for the right response.
