Fine. But police reports, campus or otherwise, mean nothing until they are adjudicated in a court of law with jury and or judge. You do realize you or I could call the cops and swear out a complaint on anyone we want and they would duly note it and move on to their next call. There is absolutely no court in any of this, and yet people have been punished. This is hysteria, not how the system is supposed to work.

This has less to do with the legal system, and more to do with a moral system. We don't have to rely on the State or a judge or a legal outcome to dictate our actions. The board at Penn State can observe, listen, and make their own decisions. Don't let the legal systen displace common sense or morality in decision making. PSU fired him, they didn't send him to prison.

Would you fire your nanny if you found out she was Casey Anthony, or would you defer to the legal system that acquitted her? If I showed you video of an employee stealing from your store, would you fire them immediately, or would you let them work until after the trial?

Try explaining that to one of 80 boys that was forcibly raped n the locker room. I cannot believe you, nor others on this thread are actually complaining about this man being fired. It is absolutely the right thing to do. Period.

Our local talk radio evening host has been covering this quite a bit. A lot was handled wrong and potentially illegally...for years. From the 28 year old assistant coach who “witnessed” the ten year old boy being raped in the shower and did nothing to stop the rape, notify police to calling his dad for guidance on what to do, to how the reporting was handled.

I cannot fathom if a grown man is witnessing the violation of a child in a locker room or shower...calls his own father for guidance? Why not the police? Why not beat the @#$% out of the guy? Why not rescue the child?

Keep in mind they were fired for how the situation was (not) handled, not for what happened at the hands of the pedophile.

I wonder if you would feel the same way if it was YOUR 10 year old son who was RAPED.
Hope you never have to find out.

Does anybody even understand morality vs legality anymore?

Not so ‘cool’ Jenny.

when one of your grad assistant coaches comes to you, the head coach, and reports he saw Uncle Jerry plugging a naked 10 yr old boy in the locker room shower, a coach as a mandated reporter calls the police.

Joe-Pa slept on it for a night, then called in damage control - his uppers on the university staff.

And for another 8 years everyone KNEW Uncle Jerry was still on the prowl, just not on the main campus. But hey, Joe “did his job” and called his boss and the band played on.

Oh, someone overseeing the athletic department decided to take away Uncle Jerry's locker room keys and ban him from the main campus where the real PSU gods dwell - but running his “Second Mile” kiddie camps (linked to Penn State football) on other Penn State campuses was “OK”- what goes on in Harrisburg and Behrend stays in Harrisburg and Behrend.

The entire lot of men who chose to protect Penn State football rather than protect kids from this predator- are damned.

These rioting students need to have their terms cancelled and sent home. Let Mummy and Daddy swallow a term's tuition.
And Penn State football- suspended for the season.

BTW I went to Penn State and I was there when the place was “shut down” for Kent State shootings... actually we were “allowed” to convert any course we were taking from graded to pass-fail so we could all go attend demonstrations. Ha. Pass-Fail was the only way I got through German 4!

This riotous “support” for Paterno is ridiculous and trivial and should not be tolerated. The inmates should not run the asylum.

nobody should be bigger than the university and the program. Joe knew and he should go.

I feel bad, but they allowed one man to become bigger than the program and this is the cost.

What planet are you on? That is exactly what has happened. I defy you to read the testimony of 8 victims in the Investigating Grand Jury indictment against Sandusky, and then attempt to continue your sanctimonious carping here. You must be a real pip IRL...
