Rick Perry says eliminate 3 agencies, can’t name them

ROCHESTER, Mich. (AP) — Republican presidential hopeful Rick Perry says he would eliminate three federal agencies. Just don’t ask him to name them.

The Texas governor on Wednesday night struggled during a debate with his rivals and said he would nix the Commerce and Education departments. He drew a blank when the moderator asked what the third agency would be.

Perry previously has called on the elimination of the Energy Department.

Perry is only saying “oops” for drawing a blank on a favorite subject of criticism on the campaign trail.

He has struggled at previous debates and although he’s committed to four more, his advisers are considering skipping future ones.

Perry was done long ago. Tonight just made that clearer in the minds of some.

In spite of (or maybe because of) Perry’s momentary lapse, he was the only candidate in the debate who sounded sincere and didn’t act like a robot.

“Imagine if you were a big donor to the Perry campaign how you would feel watching him in this clip?”

Do you mean crony capitalists who hoped to get kick backs?

Toastmasters is a good place for folks who want to improve their self-confidence while learning some fundamental public speaking skills.

I first got involved with the organization while I was a trainer of new circulation managers for a medium sized newspaper early in my career.

One of the fun things I taught was how to control and ultimately overcome fear of speaking before a group by thinking about the fear as the butterflies in their stomachs. The trick was to get them all flying in formation! :)

I know a lot of people who are involved at upper levels of politics (Republicans, Democrats, and Independants) and they all say Cain will lose the general.

Yes, most of them do say that. They also said it about Palin. They will say that about ANY CONSERVATIVE, period.

Thank goodness, we voters have stopped listening to them.

Your vaunted "movers and shakers" can KMA.

He is a Bush clone, but more stupid.

Almost as stupid as, say, someone spamming the thread with five perfectly identical posts.

Hang in there you'll master FR's posting interface one of these days. You've only had six years of practice.

In a previous post. You say you know high level people and did a psuedo-namedrop. I'll take your word for the sake of argument that you do. I know a few people myself.

Rove is a consultant. Consultants have clients. He knew enough or had good enough staffers to get Bush elected twice. He also knew enough to get our ass kicked in 2006 and 2008, forcing a severe regrouping for 2010. Rove's a good organizer and spotting demographics. That's his strength. He's also dumber than a box of rocks when it comes to the importance of fiscal issues.

I'm undecided. Palin's not running so that's not relavent. You don't think Cain's electable. What makes him less electable than the others? The argument I'll make for Cain's electability is that he's not a politician, and he can hammer than over and over again. He's a successful businessman.

As far as Perry debate's go. They can sometimes matter. They can sometimes not. The problem here is that Perry isn't known to a lot of people. I've seen candidates lose elections based on the result of a single debate. Dick DeVos for governor. DeVos is a good man and a real nice guy good one on one, but he was destroyed in the debate by Granholm, and that ended it. 15pt loss when he once lead in the polls. What Perry needs to do is go back to his gubernatorial record and emphasis over and over what he's done.

Most electable. Huntsman. Governor record. Least electable. Romney. Used car salesman.

Then it would make sense if you couldn't get past 2...

If Obama had made the same gaffe or worse, would be naught but the sound of crickets chirping coming from the LSM.

Oh you know it. Joe Biden does something like this almost weekly but we have to watch Fox News to hear about it.

You are really in the tank for Perry. What can he do to lose your support, would that be possible?
