Sharon, I can’t help but wonder about your motives. If, as you said, you came out so that that this never happens to another woman....then why did you wait 12 years? That's inaccurate. In that earlier scuffle-up, the complaint against Cain was with the NRA HR in July of 1999. He was no longer at NRA at that time. The complaint was against NRA, not Cain, though he was mentioned in the complaint. Probably in that case, she listed multiple issues, Cain was one of them. Likely they were all false or exaggerated charges, but NRA wanted to get rid of a bad employee in the office before she poisoned the whole place.

He didn’t know, he wasn’t involved in the investigation, all he knows it was REALLY happened (which was nothing) he had no idea what ELSE was alleged to have occured, and the company not him decided as a business decision it was cheaper to just pay the lying ho than to take it to court, none of the exact details were known to Cain, he may have in one case learned after the fact that the company paid her a severance, but he had no details and since he didn’t actually DO anything, how was he to know that something was going to come up? nothing came up in the investigation, and he KNOWS he did nothing wrong.

All your statements assume he did something wrong he knew was out there and could come back to haunt him.

All my statements assume he did NOTHING and thus knows NOTHING about what supposedly happened, because it NEVER HAPPENED, and he never saw exactly what he was accused of and had to wait to see exactly what lie was being told against him in order to respond to it.

Again if you approach this as ... he did nothing, and all this is lies, then everything makes more sense.

Look, you want the job of president, you get your own house in order. Money was paid to a woman to keep her quiet, about an allegation against you. That’s something you should KNOW ABOUT AND BE PREPARED TO ANSWER.

Cain claims, he didnt know about it, which shows he didn’t have his own house in order, or he is flat out lying. You want to be president you dig into your own background first and be ready to answer questions about it. Cain either didn’t do it, or worse yet, knew this was out there and didn’t bother to think he’d have to answer on it.

This guys IMHO a disaster waiting to happen, you can claim its because of an unfair press... really? Do you think the press is going to get any more fair the closer election day comes??? Be serious!

This guy made this situation worse, by his handling of it, he didn’t diffuse anything, he made it worse. He’s not remotely ready for national politics IMHO, and he is showing it more and more each day. Falsly accusing others of leaking it, only to backtrack... and I’ll be honest, I find the fact he claims no knowledge of the payout dubious as well.

I don’t see President in this guy, I see a piece of raw meat that will be absolutely destroyed in a national campaign. The R candidate is not going to get kit glove care like Fauxbama, and this guys just not showing me he can handle what should have been diffused and a minor situation...

I agree, but not with the Court part. Going to court will actually give credence to the allegations and keep them in the spotlight. I like the Duke Lacrosse analogy and he should get out in front of the cameras and blast the hell out of her and Allred and give a impassioned speech about the filthy garbage and the bottom feeding lawyers and the democrat operatives and the craven lefty media as a big part of what he sees as wrong with America: a nation crippled by professional victimhood, a jackpot litigation culture, the sliminess of Democrat politics and the complete bastardization of the free press as a tool of political warfare.

He can say, that as President, he hopes not only to execute policies to restore American greatness but to lead the American people to throw off this rotten, vicious liberal balkanization and divisiveness and to return to the good early virtues of self-reliance, personal responsibility and hard work.

Instead of the speech being a whiny complaint about how he is being unfairly targeted, he should turn it around into an inspirational opportunity to set forth his ideals by contrasting them with everything that is wrong with the liberal (and RINO?) political lynch mob.

No it doesn’t happen all the time, and if you are running for president, you should damned well have done your own self investigation to find out about this sort of stuff, because stuff like that is going to prompt questions and you better be ready to answer them.

Well I am firmly in the "if it was consensual who cares" camp. I am not saying the allegations against Cain are true. But even if they are so what? The absolute worst that can be said is that Cain made a crude pass at an attractive woman and took no for an answer. I consider this a non event.

For some very strange reason the left has convinced the right that our candidates need to be picture perfect in virtue. Even the appearance of "unethical" behavior is now the kiss of death for conservative candidate. I CALL BULL SH*T.

Why do our guys have to be perfect and their guys don't? because we are fools, we have given the Marxists veto power over who we can and can not choose. Little wonder we get our butts kicked by the left when they get to pick and choose who gets to be in the GOP leadership. This has got to stop now or we and the country are permanently screwed.
