LBJ and HHH were not Leninists, and they were unwilling to use muscle to win.

The SA was very effective, even though the Germans killed or beaten up by them were very few.

Once the average German saw that the SA was immune from punishment, while (entirely justified) resistance to SA violence was severely punished, they fell right into line.

Our people are no different.

Exactly. That's what we're seeing with OWS. They have been given tacit permission to do every violent, destructive thing they have done, and police and mayors know that to oppose them is going to mean that it will be the police and the mayors who will be hauled into court.
