That's not true, though a few oddballs did...most Cain and Newt supporters knew this was going to be a good show no matter how it played...and so did the media which is why they've refused to cover it....
Could Newt have done so...no doubt about that. What this did show was Newt's great restraint and willingness to lift Cain even higher.... and Cain's willingness to trust Newt wouldn't do otherwise. Now that's a team!
My take exactly, both men know who the real enemy is and both men know that come 2012 they will need all the support they can get. It is very wise of both not to burn bridges. I saw more then a few opportunities for Newt to go on offense to his great credit Newt didn't. I did not see any opportunities for Cain to go on offense but believe Cain would not have either.
