Excellent Debate!! I want a REPEAT. On Foreign Policy. Herman Cain is really good with some personal vignettes. REALLY GOOD!

Steve King is highly annoying tonight. Way too wonky, without a point.

That said, Steve King is annoying."

Newt is a conservative politician with extensive experience surviving in an ego laden environment. It's difficult for me to fault him then for having a typical politician's self-centered focus. Yet knowing this hasn't made listening to Newt tonight an easy task, for me anyway.

I like Cain in this tonight because of his straight ahead statement of facts..

Like I said, nobody wants to hear Perry say ‘we already implemented that in Texas’ to their proposals.

Newt was told he would be going first during this portion. The questioner then asked a question which Cain started answering then stoppedvand said you answer. Newt then said that is fair. Imo it wasn’t Cain stumbling so much as remembering who was supposed to be up first. And if it was a stumble they are both passing to the one with experience in each question. :)

Party crasher? Are you serious? This is a thread about the Cain-Gingrich “debate” on c-span. Is there a rule that only
Cain supporters may comment? Newt supporters are crashers? Anyone who doesn’t tingle at every statement Cain makes, is unwelcome?
I don’t think Cain would be the best candidate. Why can’t you deal with that?
You think he’s the best. I don’t mind at all that you do.

Except Cain has never really been a “leader” in that sense either. He’s been a corporate manager, and a spokesperson, and a talk show host. And several other cool jobs that also didn’t involve leading.

Newt Gingrich, on the other hand, was the LEADER of the 1994 republican revolution. He was the Speaker of the House — an elected office 3rd in line to the President, bestowed upon him by his collegues because of his leadership abilities.

You do make a ogod point though, that we shouldn’t elect a President based on a good idea they have — what we need is a president who can recognize good ideas and then champion them through the legislative process. If 9-9-9 was any good, Gingrich could get it passed as easily as Cain, actually more easily because Gingrich has experience in the legislative process.

Newt has booksmarts. Cain has common sense smarts.

They are both doing very well. I believe that Cain communicates to the average joe better, Newt communicates to political junkies better. Cain has a strong Independent voter following as well (indies don’t necessarily trust Newt)

I tried to record this tonight and system wouldn't accept it. Overload, I can only hope! Tonight is the best political “fix” I've had in such a long time... I love the format and both of these American patriots!!! I hope Neilsen reports huge numbers.

I am going to donate to both tonight!!

This isn’t a huge debate in the sense of making any difference. Nobody is watching this thing. The biggest game of the season is on tonight, which is what’s on my TV.
