Republican 2012 presidential candidates Republican 2012 presidential candidates Herman Cain and Newt Gingrich met in a Lincoln-Douglas style debate on current economic and social issues facing the U.S.
Sweet, my video is back, but they’ve still got the delay. Frustrating.
The 25%-ish that instantly support the most liberal GOP candidate running in each primary have no sense of party unity whatsoever.
Right now, the author of RomneyCare enjoys the support of roughly a fifth to a quarter of GOP Primary voters’ support. It is inexcusable for anyone who opposes ObamaCare to throw their vote behind Mitt Romney. I understand he would naturally garner the support of many Mormons because of prophecy, and I respect that. But the Establishment needs to find a candidate to back who is not completely anathema to an overwhelming number of grassroots GOP voters and organizers.
Hopefully, Romney continues to fall. I would feel a lot more comfortable if he did indeed fall into third place. Mitt was slick in the debates, but the few times he challenged Newt, he looked petty, outmatched and greasy. Romney would not be capable of taking out both a popular uprising figure like Cain AND simultaneously trying to match wits with someone who is clearly more intelligent than he is (and who makes it show regularly).
What makes things worse for Mitt is that Cain and Newt like each other a lot, so he can't count on them bloodying each other for his benefit. Meanwhile, he now has a mortal enemy in Perry, who trumps Mitt on nearly every issue when it comes to Gubernatorial record.
Mitt is in the lead, but his lead is as soft as any front-runner in my lifetime.
Cain is coming from the business end...Newt from the gov. trail etc...very good.
*snort*
Are you watching on C-CPAN? It’s working fine for me.
It tested postive for steroids.
OH wow! That was FUNNY!
Yes, yes, YES......
PResident and Vice President—Cain/Gingrich—I could get behind that.
We have two great minds in an honest discussion—no sniping or stupidity on display.
Solutions, not pontification.
Almost like listening to a really good lecture by intelligent people.
Lots of mutual respect on display also.
Newt is stealing my McDonalds Economics theory. sort of
Breaking it down for the Rio Linda folks.
Looks like Cain is liking Perry's tort reform laws.
I have Direct tv What channel is it on???
Good pair together these 2.
I’m feeling a whole lot better about 2012 watching this.
Newt has (or had) a policy study institute on healthcare reform, so I’m sure he had a hand in picking this topic.
Lol. None I see.
CSPAN (I have Dish so I can’t help you further.)
This seems more like a tag team than a debate. Smart strategy.
who the hell knows, look for cspan
Dittos to that.
