Republican 2012 presidential candidates Republican 2012 presidential candidates Herman Cain and Newt Gingrich met in a Lincoln-Douglas style debate on current economic and social issues facing the U.S.
Did Perry plan to perform so badly in the debates?
Because the evidence strongly suggests that when it comes to running for POTUS, Perry has a serious inability to carry out his plans.
Well here we are - reviewing an intellectual and mature debate of consequence and your thread has, as could be predicted, deteriorated into a Norm & Charles debacle.
Wasting bandwidth on a playground scuffle. So immature - I’m going shopping.

Last I heard K. Baily Hutchinson is Texan. She doesn’t like Perry either. As I said before, Perry would not even carry his own state.
Perry is toast. That is a good thing for conservatives.
Actually this plan was a composite with economic advisers. Reagan had economic advisers. Surprise— every word was not his.
Was this also so Perry could find the chosen ones to give them Texas taxpayer-funded tuition money? Snide but, just wondering....
I’m not wasting my time on Perry. His moment in the sun has come and gone. Even Kay Bailey Hutchinson says he is a poor choice.
In any event, why would I vote for a RINO. And why in hell would I vote for a guy carrying so much baggage? I have at least three candidates I believe in and who do not have baggage.
The same thing struck me in the last debate as well. As everyone was piling on Herman for the 999 plan, Newt actually defended it. Then, last night, he kept calling herman “his good friend”, he kept complimenting him and he covered for him as well. It just seemed to me that we were watching the ticket unfold.
Perry will say anything to be elected to anything. It comes down to his credibility. He has none as far as I’m concerned.
He would not even carry his own state. Kay Baily Hitchinson just disendorsed him for crying out loud. Don’t any of those things resonate with you?
No, but he's got the longevity you seem to treasure in a candidate. I was just wondering why you don't support him, if that's what's most important to you.
It was big of you to let me post, Charles. Thanks so much.
I don’t support Paul because he is an isolationist loon.
Perry whipped Kay Bailey in the last election by 20%
What surprised me, reading the stories, is how little attention is paid to the INT at the end of the game. It could have just as well been ruled a completion. Indeed..it was a joint catch..both had control until they hit the ground, after which the LSU defender pulled the ball away. BUT ONCE THEY HIT THE GROUND THE BALL SHOULD BE DEAD, and belong to Bama. I'm no expert on the rules, but always thought that in that case, the presumption..the completion, goes to the offense.
Basically, the game was decided on that call..and that alone merits a rematch.
If LSU does end up playing either Stanford, OSU, or BOise State, the final score will be about 50-0..LSU..no matter who the opponent is.
LSU is already looking past the Razorbacks, and that could cost them..
No matter what happens, it's another national title for the SEC....and probably 4-5 teams in the final top 15 poll.
I do think there's at least a 50/50 chance that things break for a rematch. I look for Sooners to beat Cowboys, and Oregon to beat Stanford. Boise State runs the table, but their strength of schedule ( though no fault of theirs) is SOOOOOOO bad it drops them down...and I think a lot of the voters in the non-computer part of the BCS polls will vote Tide #2..
No kidding. I had to bail last night when it just got too late to post any longer. I open my pings this morning and what do I see? Reams of words from Charles.
It's looks like a mountain of government documents. That's not communicating. That's bludgeoning with text. There's no way I'm even going to read it all. I guess I'll never know whether he made a cogent point or not.
Heh....thanks for the funny. Went well with my morning coffee ;-)
But he's been in government for so long. So he's got a few quirks. Surely you can forgive him for that.
Exactly or Cain could have done what any good liberal would do, plough even more non existent money into the company hoping to keep all them branches running the risk of sinking the whole ship.....
if he turned millions of dollars loss making company into a millions of dollars profit making company there is no other case to answer on the issue....
Any good businessman will tell you sometimes cuts need to be made for the stability of the company.......be it the small local shop or a multi national company......
