Politics is also about simply liking the candidate. And that is subjective.

Some people just don’t like some people.

It happens.

It has nothing to do with platforms or policy positions.

I still don’t see any thing fresh from Cain or Gingrich.

The precepts and principles that our nation was founded upon aren't "fresh", but they're what men like Cain and Gingrich espouse - and it's what folks like me are looking for in a candidate.

We want to conserve those things which made this country great, remember? It's why we call ourselves 'conservatives'.

The debate was limited to three subjects.

Paraphrased from another thread...

Explain why you think the Mexican or any other people are so stupid that they don’t know that they are committing a crime and risking their lives coming across our border illegally. Seems pretty racist to think so little of their intelligence.

Or is there another explanation why you feel that they would knowingly walk into an obviously dangerous and potentially deadly situation...like an electrified fence?

“I think a Cain/Gingrich ticket could be fantastic!”
Not possible. The Constitution prohibits the VP and Pres. candidates from being from the same state, in this case, Georgia.

I accept that principals are not fresh. They are rock steady.

My problem is that we seem to be looking for the Politician du jour.

You have blinders on your eyes because of your support for Perry. He is a good man, but not the man for this time.

You asked what questions I refered to. Here’s another you’ll ignore like a liberal...again.

You just cannot answer the question can you? I asked it plainly. You ignore it. Why?

Do you believe deadly force in defense of the border is acceptable? Yes or no?

Three letters or two.

Then answer this one. Is a border something America should have?

Well, and of course when AP mistakenly said Perry was invited to tonights two-person debate, several Cain supporters used it as “proof” that Perry was chicken.

The AP story from October did not say Perry was invited to tonight's debate, but was invited to participate in a debate with Romney. The whole point of tonight's debate was not to have several participants, but just two.

It quoted Julie Turner, President of the Tea PArty group:

"The Tea Party Patriots PAC have extended an invitation to Perry's camp but "We have not gotten an answer back," Turner said. "We would love to set something up like this for Gov. Romney and Gov. Perry.""

If the President of the Tea Party group did not actually make that quote, please provide a link where she disputes that Perry was not invited to participate in another event. She stated publicly several times that they hoped to have more debates like this.

Yesterday, several articles came out claiming that Perry was invited by the Tea Party Patriots PAC to a similar debate with the candidate of his choosing and did not mention Romney. It was claimed that the invitation was extended to Perry out of courtesy since he's the Governor. Cain was chosen because he had worked with this particular Tea Party group, Gingrich because he had complained publicly about the "gotcha" debates.

Again, if Perry was not in fact invited to participate in a similar debate, please provide a link where Julie Turner disputes the invitation.

What are we going to do massive farts, when it comes down to crunch time. It’s obviously not going to be Perry, you’re not ignorant enough to believe the tripe you’re pushing. You’re cheerleading a man in single digits everywhere nationally and in most all state polls.

So what, what will you do with an ostensibly conservative conscience do?

Where did you Cain supporters get your inflated idea of what Cain has done? You are buying all the hype. He did nothing special. He's a PIZZA guy! Sheesh!

UNQUALIFIED to be President. NO EXPERIENCE. A foreign policy NOVICE. Running a company that makes pizza isn't a qualification to be president. Being the head of the National RESTAURANT Association is not a qualification to be president. FOOD again. Maybe he could be white house chef?

Radio talk show host, now there is a job that says “PRESIDENT” all over it. Are you Cain people in a trance?

You ought to read a bit of history as to what the qualifications for President actually are...not what you prefer them to be.

You are entitled to an opinion on the mater, byt that’s all it is.

I don’t want to spend six months trying to convince people our candidate REALLY is smart...he just hides it very well. Been there, done that (see: Bush The Younger).

Same here. Dubya is really a smart man, but can't communicate worth a lick. Unless one spends a good deal of time really studying him, they can easily come away believing that he's a beer short of a six pack.

Rick Perry apparently has the same affliction, although in his case, I feel he's also lacking the love that so clearly showed whenever Dubya spoke to us. I could forgive his mangling of the language, because the man had something glowing within him that was unmistakeable. I just do not see that with Rick Perry.
