Without Patton Bradley’s alleged battle plan would have been nothing more than squiggles on a map.

It is a fact that the battles Bradley commanded resulted in more dead and wounded American soldiers (percapita) then the battles Patton commanded.

I can understand ilk like Rooney not liking Patton. But to say he was over rated is ignorent. What the hell did Rooney know about generalling anyway? For people like Rooney likable average people are always preferable to unlikable superior people. Feelings,you know?

Yep, touchy, feely feelings. Patton was the general the Germans feared the most.
Touchy, feely doesn’t win wars and save lives.

I suspect that despite what Rooney might say to the contrary, his dislike of Patton was directly attributable to Patton's political views on the Soviets and not his generalship.
