“If it fines business then it hurts business.”
E-Verify doesn’t “Fine Business” unless that business intends to the BREAK THE LAW.
But then you already knew that...you’re just trolling at this point.
Oh thank you, thank you, thank you, Rick, thank you!!! Trying to buy enough Hispanic votes to avoid irrelevancy isn't going to save you because you've just ended any further claims that you care a whit about American sovereignty. Of course, some of us already knew that, but now I don't have to hear it any more. Do I?
For the duration.
.
Fact this is amnesty by another name, designed to let compassionate conservatives feel good about robbing taxpayers.
What is Cain’s plan to secure the border and deal with illegals and immigration?
“Have you noticed the border issue trolls are really quiet between Presidential elections? “
Yea, good point. I did notice that there were A LOT of new names posting on FR, once Perry decided to run.
You know? A lot of these people are really slick.
They have false documentation that even the fed doesnt have a handle on.
Are you saying that you think the local businessman should be penalized if he gets duped with false documentation?
Does the local Business guy have the tools to filter out the illegals?
The fed doesn’t seem to have those tools, there are 12 million illegals here now that they cant seem to process.
Do you really think that Joes auto shop should be the ones that take the hit for this situation?
What say YOU on how to handle it Mr. Kenobe?
Piece of cake. Set up a bounty system with heavy penalties for false arrest or harassment of either citizens or legitimate immigrants, resident aliens, and visitors. Not only would it provide many Americans with much needed work, the illegals would leave in a heartbeat.
So having an honest open discussion is now grounds for banning on FR?
Is that what you are calling on the owner to do?
Look, I have been respectful and only suggest that some folks have equated this thing to open amnesty which it is not.
It is my heartfelt belief that Perry knows more about the border situation than any of us her or any of the other candidates.
He knows the frustrations of the Federal Gov in this regard and he along with Greg Abbot have challenged the fed more than any other candidate on the way the FED ties states hands on solving this border issue.
There has to be a better way.
There is.
Enforce existing law. Use E-verify to confirm employability. Prosecute businesses that knowingly hire illegals. Restrict benefits to citizens.
The illegals will self-deport. They'll even buy their own bus ticket. Won't cost taxpayers a dime.
Unbelievable. I guess Perry said this so he could end the nightmare of his abortive presidential run. This is worse than his “heartless” comment.
E-verify is free to use and if an illegal somehow gets by it Joe’s auto shop is of the hook.
I know you know this, so does mylife. This proves your assertion that mylife, like most perrybots, is dishonest.
It’s a shame they get to push their garbage on FR.
No. You are incorrect.
E verify places the Feds responsibility in the matter on businessmen and then threatens them with fines.
That is Perry problem with E Verify and I agree.
You slough off your duty as the Fed, to a private citizen and then hold a fiscal gun to his head?
How is this conservative?
“No. You are incorrect.
E verify places the Feds responsibility in the matter on businessmen and then threatens them with fines.”
I guess you must be thinking of your own version of E-Verify, because it’s OBVIOUS that the one we’re talking about that’s in use, in the United States, indemnifies employers that use it. But then you’ve been told that 20 times or so, so it’s obviously you’re just trolling at this point.
What happens if a guy hires an illegal and the paperwork looks legit, but the Fed determines that the hire was an illegal?
Do they get fined?
Maybe I don’t understand all the details.
I hope so
E-verify doesn't "fine" business. Regulators do.
If regulators fined a business for failing to use E-verify or for hiring workers who failed the E-verify test, would you have a problem with that?
That doesn't sound credible to me, and I doubt there are any studies to back that up. From what I've observed (having lived in the southwest US my whole life), most illegals from south of the border came here illegally to begin with.
