” He didn’t freak out over the rock. The concern he expressed was for “the N-word”. “ <<<<<

Is that right? Well, who would have thunk it? That’s what it was about? /s

We all know who came up with the rock. Obama had dog whistled Texas democrats exactly one week prior to let fly with the Texas opposition research results. This is the best they had because it is ALL they had. Perry didn’t own the rock, or the land, didn’t write on the rock, opposed the signage on the rock, painted the rock, had to turn the rock over, entirely, when the paint faded. Cain went off like a gun shot to the talk shows bemoaning Perry insensitivity. The story was a bust, Cain’s reaction to the story was a bust, but Herb still can’t seem to let go of Rick Perry can he. Neither can you.

Cain is a 60-year old black man, from the deep south. The darlin’ is a southern thing - like honeybun, sweetheart, sweetie... a term of expansive southern hospitality. It may make professional women cringe a little - there is nothing inappropriate about it - dated, maybe, not inappropriate. He was probably raised hearing it a million time and considers it a term of endearment and respect...

The doctoring is a southern black term - especially early black churches - not just for food, but if you have a flat tire or having trouble with anything - can you doctor this for me? He was in a strange studio, wanting a morning cup of tea - was he supposed to look for the honey and lemon himself? He probably didn’t know the woman’s name and so called her darling, and made a perfectly understandable request. Newt is my candidate but what is going on here with the media is the Palinization of Cain - and if we don’t stop it now - the next will be your candidate if you don’t support Cain.

I’m betting Willard Mittini Romney is behind it.
He has a history and has to discredit conservatives to get the nomination.
Plus he has few ethical issues with dishonesty: witness his personal staff making up fake police badges to get his car through traffic.

He’s a louse and a liberal one.

What people here are forgeting is that both cases are settled... no verdict reached as to culpability or falsity.
Happens all the time.

I watched all the talk shows. I watched Herman. I read every article.

My initial point ~ that Cain spoke about the "N word" is correct.

There's simply no other informed opinion possible.

Please catch up.

BTW, best move Perri could have made when he found that rock was to call up Bill Ayers to come on down to Texas to blow some caps, eh, and take out that rock.

The compliments came from Cain’s lips to Greata’s ears on her show, when bluntly asked what he was doing to cause the ruckus. It was just maybe compliments. All the reports attributed to the complaintants themselves contain that he was inviting them to his room, his pad, but with the rush of clutter coming in, this also could be the complaint of one and not all three. It is hard to tell. The Wilson quotes says he himself was a witness describe the repeated Cain comments to one woman during drinks in mixed company got to the point of embarrassment, and someone Wilson said finally told Herb to lay off. Thus the difference between his “compliment” and my own term of “suggestive flattery” comes from Wilson’s eye witness account. However, I can not remember where I read Wilson’s account last night or this morning.

Herman most likely heard that the White House Chief of Staff had something to do with it ~ I'd already targeted John Podesta because he's in a picture with the current NRAss President and "the woman's" lawyer, Br'r Bennett!

Quite possibly the news Herman and his folks picked up was "A previous White House Chief of Staff" and that was Rahm Emanuel.

Now, is Rahm involved in this? Frankly, I don't know but he could be, but FUR SHUR there's John Podesta partying with two of the other principals.

What you need to do is come up with evidence that Rahm wasn't involved but there's no such evidence, but we do have evidence that the circle of friends in this case does involve a White House Chief of Staff.

Yup, Wee Willy is involved, but his last name is Clinton.

Still, Willard got involved in the pizza racket at the same time as Cain ~ Bain bought Dominoes!

They didn't do as well as Cain. I'd have to say Cain won the pizza wars.

There’s no evidence the other ol’gal got a payoff because of Cain ~ remember, the NRAss is a relatively big lobbying outfit so it could be other folks ~ and many of their members come from parts of the industry where there are numerous women who part time as hookers, and then there’s Nevada ~ where there’s no part time about it ~ they are for sale with the steak dinner!

It ain't just a southern thing. My former boss is a Long Island Sicilian woman in her mid-forties and she calls me sweetheart and darling all of the time (she is not my boss any longer because my department got reassigned to someone else, but I still see her every day). You just have to be an adult and realize it was just her way of talking, no harassment or inneundo intended.

But if you are looking for a reason to carry out a grudge or get a quick years pay from lawsuit avoidance, well, the opportunity is there for you.

I did hear the Greta interview. Greta asked Cain if he was someone who might compliment a woman in a way that she could misconstrue. Cain said no. He said if he was with his wife in a group, he might say to the husband of a couple, “I see you married up.” Or, if it was a co-worker he knew and she had, for instance, changed her hairstyle, he might say “I see you changed your hairdo. It’s flattering.” Now, I don’t judge either of those examples to be sexual suggestiveness. If you do, I guess reasonable people can disagree.

I’d like to see a Wilson account where he describes repeated comments to one woman, and Wilson told Cain to lay off. I’ve read Wilson articles, but haven’t seen that. Maybe I missed an article somewhere, which is certainly possible. Like I said, I have read the sources you mentioned in your first reply to me, and haven’t seen those specific details. If you come across that particular story with those details, I’ll post the link for you if you ping me to it. I promise not to comment derisively on the story, but only to post the link for you. Thanks.

Accepting Anderson’s statement that he never knew about the allegations and was not the source of the leak is certainly “backing off.”

I agree, I haven't read or heard anything that would say there was. Actually, I'm starting to think, based on what has surfaced and on Cain's own comments, there may only be one actual complainant. Nobody commenting on it, including Politico by their own admission, has seen any settlement or severance documents. Even the woman's attorney says he doesn't have the documents. It may be a case of the grade school game of "telephone"; many people repeating something none of them have actually heard or read first-hand. Like I said, I don't know, but it does appear possible that there's only one woman with a severance agreement. And that's the one Cain's talking about right at the moment on Hannity's show.

I wonder if the women who accused him, and they very well might have had reason, we don't know, have a history of making money this way or have made money doing the same kind of thing post the Cain windfall.

Sometimes, as in the medical world, where this type of accusation is common, a woman can make money accusing a professional of indecent sexual aggression without ever having to demonstrate a shred of evidence Then move on to another doctor in another area.

Insurance companies almost ALWAYS settle such cases out of court and in closed circumstances.
