Adding to the ongoing Herman Cain sexual harassment controversy, two sources have now confirmed to PJ Media that a female employee of the National Restaurant Association told associates she had been brought by Mr. Cain to his Crystal City, Virginia residence where she alleged he had taken advantage of me.
One source, a male, told PJ Media:
Herman took advantage of seniority and power with a young woman. It was an abuse of power.
Implying that coming forward with the accusations was an ordeal for the young woman, the source also said:
Who do you believe, a CEO or a mid-level staffer? It was unsettling for her to make charges.
The name of the woman who was in her early twenties at the time of the alleged incident has been confirmed by PJ Media. We have chosen not to reveal her identity for reasons of discretion.
Both sources, one male and one female, worked at the time mid-1990s for the governmental affairs department of the National Restaurant Association, as did the woman.

How he’s handled it is separate from the media obsession over it.
The media was going to run with this no matter what Cain did or didn’t do. It doesn’t matter what Cain would or wouldn’t have done.
Besides he can’t say anything because 1) he was under a legal order not to discuss this and 2) he doesn’t remember much about it because he wasn’t involved in how it was settled.
Not saying anything, saying a little as he remembers it but trying to not break the agreement, or saying more, the media would slam him no matter what he did.
Because it’s about taking him down, there’s nothing he could do to get the media not to keep hammering him on it.
I hear ya.
None of the candidates we have to chose from is perfect, hopefully in the end, the best man for the job wins.
We desperately need to replace the bamster with a good, Conservative POTUS.
On that point we can both agree.
Yeesh, if it's this ugly this early in the cycle can you imagine what it's going to be like next year?
I think I'm going to need a seat belt for my chair here!
If you believe my honest expressions here are some kind of ploy that will help Governor Perry, than you either didn't read my posts in this thread or are just using my genuine feelings to mock even more.
A PPP poll indicates that after a Cain implosion, Newt Gingrich would most likely by-pass Governor Perry in the polls and ALSO by-pass Mitt Romney, the studies showing Newt Gingrich would go straight to the top of the Republican pack - above ALL the rest of them still there, should Herman Cain's campaign fall apart at this specific time in the nomination process.
So I would have to be pretty stupid to think sharing my genuine feelings here will help Governor Perry in any way.
This helps Newt Gingrich, and gosh, a Perrywinkle trying to do something that puts Newt Gingrich in the forefront of our nomination seems just a little odd, if you ask me.
You bgill have been very rude to me personally several times, and I don't forget how rude you have been to me personally either.
But for me to share honest feelings with people here, especially when the likelihood of Cain's campaign imploding will benefit Newt Gingrich the most of all is so laughable that it shows you are not only rude but stupid.

Excerpt from Team Gingrich (using PPP Polling data)
If the 70% who are soft commits for Cain leave and divide up as the current poll says they would, here is what the rest of the field would look like
(and remember, this is purely hypothetical):
Newt: 23%
Romney: 20%
Perry: 18%
Cain: 9%
Bachmann: 8%
Now, who knows how it might actually work. Cain might not collapse -- but I suspect he will, if not for the allegations in the Politico story (which are an unknown, in terms of both substance and polling impact at this moment) then for his abortion comments or his lack of knowledge on foreign policy and other issues.
End of excerpt from Team Gingrich

So bgill, next time, please keep your rude behavior out of my face and your political analysis on the back burner for 1.) I'm sick of your personal affronts and 2.) You are REALLY BAD at figuring things out.
Please keep in mind Hill never thought she would have to testify or have her name known to the pubic. The info was leaked, the press went to work and Hill was then compelled to testify.
So, sure she came forward but not quite like she hoped.
I understand your point entirely though.
Cain signed no agreements..none..he made this clear today on Hannity. So he can say what he will...but no doubt is being advised to walk carefully about naming names etc...as should be..this needs to stop today or he’ll sink his own boat.
Sorry casinva...but the Rass. poll has Newt at 14 and number three on the list....he’s surpassedall others who remain in sigle digits. That is if you are a poll watcher
I refuse to pass judgment on Herman Cain until facts are presented. There has been no truth to come out yet. Only allegations. We do not know the truth.
If you cant at least show respect for those who have gone through some sort of sexually-related situation and the horrific experience Mr. Cains aspirations now are causing them to relive yet again, at least have some respect for honesty and integrity in this world. I dont think THATS asking to much of anyone.
Loaded accusations in those words. You should step back, take a breath and ask if your judgment is being clouded by what happened to your daughter.
Of course I have compassion and respect for anyone who has been the victim of a sexual attack. It is ridiculous to assume I do not. I also have compassion for those who have been falsely accused.
As for honesty and integrity? I would think waiting for facts before passing judgment reflected honesty and integrity. But that's just me.
May you find peace.
Of which I'm not usually, but thanks for the info, whatever it was meant to prove.
I only know that the PPP study indicates that the probabilities are that should Cain's campaign explode right now, Newt would, with the highest probability, be the choice recipient of it all.
And that knowledge, quite frankly, makes me feel like I could be freer to say more things on my mind, realizing that I'm not saying something to help the person I know I would RATHER be the recipient of any implosion, but simply stating my feelings openly for just the reason of stating my feelings, nothing more.
So, I'm not sure what I should get from your poll, but from what I can tell from mine, speaking my mind freely here would not make a difference in helping my own candidate, Governor Perry. In fact, Cain's implosion appears to help Newt Gringrich. So everyone can just relax and know you are seeing a very passionate casinva in a very sensitive area sharing thoughts that are personal and not geared for any sort of campaigning purposes.
Whoa. Hold on there. You've jumped on several posters today. I have purposefully gone out of my way to try NOT posting to you here or on the Texas board (which has been most disruptive lately, hmm). I have gone through my posts back to Aug. 27 and have found, other than this thread today, I have posted to you three times:
Tuesday - which was nothing directed to you but to the thread.
Oct. 28 - posted I had a bridge for sale.
Oct. 24 - commented to the thread concerning candidates signing petitions and again nothing directed to you.
Now, if merely posting I had a bridge for sale is a personal affront to you, is in your face rude and that one post somehow mutated itself into multiple acts of bad behavior on my part causing you to go out of your way to lie on the board about me, then that's, well, I'll leave it at that because I'm so obviously "laughable" and "not only rude but stupid."
And you know that how? Are you Rick Perry, Junior or some such.
This whole thing is disgusting! Now they are ADMITTING they got details from 3rd parties who weren’t even witnesses and that they even got THAT wrong? Yellow “journalism” at its finest.
As for the Perry camp - give it up and go home. Now you are all making yourselves look pathetic, vindictive, and just like the politicians we are supposedly trying to get rid of.
Is there a “body list” for Perry, too (like the Clinton and Obama lists)? As for Romney - he doesn’t even have to bother with any of this (although I’m sure he started the ball rolling with the “rock” report). Both of them are establishment scumbags trying to tear down a good man.
Perry is the one who said God wanted him in this race — is he now going to claim God wanted him to cast false aspersions on his competitors? I guess he didn’t get the memo that “Thou shalt not bear false witness”. I am way more concerned about a politician who has no regard for others if it gets him where he thinks God wants him - what kind of crazy is THAT? (Sounds like a radical muslim excuse - Lying is “ok” if the outcome is what I believe God wants.)
I agree on the story being crapola.
i want to see solid info on who started it. And I’d like to know the details of the agreements and parties, etc.
I’m not ready to point the finger for sure, just yet.
Serious as compared to Obama’s history. Clinton’s etc. give me a break
Herman Cains inappropriate comment revealed?
Posted by The Right Scoop on Nov 3, 2011 in Politics | 86 Comments
***UPDATED***
The Iowa radio host Steve Deace revealed on October 3rd and awkward comment that Herman Cain made while at his radio station. Via Des Moines Register:
On Monday, Deace posted a message on his Facebook page that Cain had said things to both of my female staffers that at best are professionally awkward if not inappropriate over the last several months.
On Monday, Deace told The Des Moines Register he didnt want to talk publicly about what Cain did that made the women present at his radio interviews uncomfortable.
I have instructed our employees not to address the situation specifically, Deace said Monday. At this point I see no need in dragging them into this individually.
During his Oct. 3 broadcast in Iowa, Deace mentioned that Cain made a comment to a woman who was there to report on the radio interview for another news agency.
Cain said, Darling, do you mind doctoring my tea for me? Deace said.
Deace told the Register last month that he believes Cain was talking about adding honey and lemon, but that it was an awkward moment.
This is why transparency is so important. Because now, we know the cheese fell off Steve Deaces cracker or something. I mean really, this is pathetic.
Bullsh!t. Cain is running for President as a Republican. Nothing ticks me off more then double standards. I am holding off for now and will watch this unfold. But if Cain is caught lying or in a pattern of real sexual harrassment or infidelity then he is toast and deservedly so. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. All of this could be made up nonsense.
casinva—
There are some extreme misogynist statements being made on Free Republic to defend Herman Cain. From a legal standpoint, we don’t know how far Cain went in his abuse of women. However, anyone who has a daughter (or a few daughters) certainly can relate to the desire to protect our children, even when they are grown, especially barely grown and in their 20s.
Speaking as a father, I know that it is a cruel, tough world out there for young women in their 20s just starting to find their way in the professional world.
This concerns me in that if Herman Cain is guilty of sexual harassment that the people in this country that generally have good moral bearings (like I thought there were on FR) are going to dismiss the Cain transgressions and blame the young ladies instead. We’re supposed to be better than that.
Joe
