After a week of gaffs from Gov. Rick Perry, his wife Anita is left picking up the pieces and playing damage control on the campaign trail to steer conversation to policy issues.
Im really proud, said the first lady of Texas at an American Spectator gala in Washington, D.C. He put himself on the line and is withstanding the fire because of love of country.
Perry has been in the line of fire, rather, since Friday when allegations surfaced that he delivered a speech in New Hampshire while intoxicated. Though event hosts are defending Perrys sobriety, his lucid speech was not his only gaff of the week.

Oh, and one more thing... Carbon county in Wyoming was once part of the Texas “panhandle”. ;)
We want it back!
And you are an idiot or a liar...or both.
You have lost the argument when all you can do is launch a personal attack. “Read my lips no new taxes”, the dog crap lied and he got his ass kicked.
Why should you have a monopoly when it comes to personal attacks. You've made a habit of it!!
But....but....how else will they vent their frustrations brought about by their shattered Sarah Palin dreams?
“But....but....how else will they vent their frustrations brought about by their shattered Sarah Palin dreams?”
They sound like a bunch of jilted lovers.
LOL - you're a fine one to be calling people liars.
I've noticed you were unable to produce any posts to support your nasty little accusations at me, weren't you?
And instead of owning up that you were wrong, you just slunk back under your rock.
If you stay there, that would be fine.
...though I realize she's probably offensive to some of the anti-Perrys, as she has no tattoos and doesn't cuss.
I have been active in conservative/Republican political circles for 30+ years. Most conservatives I know are anti-Perry. Those who have tattoos are men who got them at some time in their lives when they were serving their country; the women do not have them. And many if not most are Christians who I have never heard cuss. So your weak attempt at disparaging them based on tattoos and cussing was ludicrous at best. At worst it paints you as an uninformed flame thrower. But I realize thats all youve got so have at it.
And Anita Perry will never be FLOTUS. Not because she is not a lady but because her husband is not president material.
I don't see, for example, Rhode Islanders getting jiggy with the fact that they're from Rhode Island when they feel offended.
Or Alaskans.
Just Texans, and people from Harvard.
Cheers!
{Ahem!} Really?
{tapping foot}
And the pseudo-intellectualism of Massachusetts does not play in the Midwest or the South. It's even worse when Northeastern libs try to go all native.
We're all armed down here, ya know...
Yeah, so's John Kerry.
"Can I get me a huntin' license here?"
Every state has its problems.
Learn to laugh at your own state, as I tell Ole and Lena jokes about Minnesota.
(Of course, if you'd rather pick on the state next door, like Minnesota does to poor North Dakota, or Wisconsin does to Minnesota, etc., that's fine too.)
Cheers!
Garrison Keillor went to New York too, and it ruined him.
Minnesotans are best when they stay at home.
Final example: Thomas Friedman of the New York Slimes grew up in St. Louis Park (Minneapolis suburb).
Cheers!
“Don’t you people understand??? You HAVE to vote for my husband! I want this, I mean he wants this, SO BADLY!”
You have to be one to understand and if you aren't one you never would understand.
When I was in 7th grade I was shocked to learn that all 7th graders in the US didn't have to take Texas history. It's true!
"It's a Texas thing, you wouldn't understand."
On the other hand, I will freely admit that Shiner Bock is a pretty decent beer.
(My current favorites are Japan's Kirin Ichiban and the half-and-half Mississippi Mudd.)
Cheers!
I’ve been to the Shiner beer place...but don’t like beer!
Alright, lonestar. You at least haven't flamed me to a crisp for criticizing Texans' attitudes. But here I just can't help but think you're pulling my leg. A good ole' boy not liking BEER?
Next thing you'll be trying to convince me that Obaama is a closet Muslim sympathizer who hasn't been forthcoming about his past...
Cheers!
About the Texan I questioned was a Texan...he grew up in El Paso so we're good!
