From sre, a National Review commenter:
http://www.nationalreview.com/corner/282047/former-nra-pollster-if-cain-accuser-allowed-speak-could-end-campaign-katrina-trinko

So, if you are a D, you can get elected President without releasing ANY of your educational records and admitting to doing “a little blow” . . . or being a married-but-universally-acknowledged horn-dog.

But if you are an R, you are toast if you made a pass at an employee at a restaurant years ago?

And we wonder why we’re left with Romney?

Good heavens, no person in their right mind would run for the Republican nomination.

After seeing Perry’s behavior in N.H. I wouldn’t want him near the “football”.

Cain has a settlement on harassment on record. This is fact.

Mark Levin just said that the "accuser's" lawyer now says neither he nor she "can't find" any settlement papers!

Agreed, as well as in the 90’s it was easy to file a claim and get money/position with no witness.Just because someone screams it does not make it so.I must say I am sorely disappointed I really thought Romney/Axelrod was behind this.It is war and no one is on the tea party side but the tea party itself. And then we eat our own with the diehard Perry supporters throwing the baby out with the bath water wanting they’re guy.How very sad!The GOP wants Romney and Obama and Axelrod boy are laughing at the divide and conquer. How sad.

I think the political key, however, is to decide what the truth “is”. Internally, there should be a full “dossier” on this stuff, with prepared statements and background. This shooting from the hip is amateur hour.

I can't site the record as I haven't seen it, but heard it on Rush, and that's good enough for me, because he demands facts before reporting it. It was NOT a settlement at all, that the woman got. She got 30 something thousand and it was a years severance pay, NOT a settlement. And it was between her and the NRA. Incidentally it was after her charges, and the other chronically offended woman, were deemed to have NO SUBSTANCE.

Not settlement, severance pay.

Rush Limbaugh did a good job explaining this on his show today.

Clear the air?

U know how many CEO’s get lawsuits dumped on their lap like this?

We as conservatives need some backbone here. This is an all out attempt to bring Cain down.

If this was a big deal they would have brought Cain down then...they did not, they chose the money.

Smarten up people.

To be fair I saw that those sound bytes made him look like a fool but all of the reporters present said it was a good speech.

Based on the privacy clauses, it’s hard to admit anything or say anything.

Usually, you are only allowed to say that the case has been “resolved.”

Cain’s responses/interviews sounded exactly like a person who had multiple attorney’s telling him what he could and could not say. Most of the time, you sound just plain stupid when this happens.

"He should have dumped his entire team, and hired a seasoned crew the day after he won the Florida Straw Poll. BIG mistake..

There is always more room under the magic bus...I hope Cain tosses Block..if he does, he's got my vote. I don't like back stabbers or people who can't see back stabbers...

He knew about this for over a week

He didn't know what was going to be in the story. It was a smear.

I want to see the evidence too and think all should wait for the facts to come out before deciding the guilt or innocence of either candidate. As you said some of the allegations are hearsay, as is Cain’s accusation against Perry.

Shame Rush had to explain it, because Cain couldn’t or wouldn’t. What a mess.

If you followed any of my posts you’d know I think the only value Cain has ever added is to clear a path for a Romney nomination so congratulations. You guys have done your part to make that happen as I predicted.

The idea that supporting Cain is the same as supporting Romney is so incredibly childish and retarded, it defies logic. It's almost as loony as the RonPaulbots who claim that supporting anybody but Paul is supporting the new world order. It's especially retarded given Perry's standings in the polls.

You are doing one thing - you are ensuring that Perry is going to be far down the list for Cain supporters if Cain doesn't win in the primaries, because nobody wants to deal with people like you, and I've seen plenty of you Perry fans pushing this bullshit. Bash Romney and Ron Paul fans all you want, but when you bash the followers of other Conservative candidates like this, you're going for a scorched earth policy and you will divide Conservative.

I would definitely be interested in who leaked the story.

Yep, there had to be a motive.

The problem now for Cain is, he's already accused the Perry campaign/those connected to it, as being the leakers.

It's hard for me to believe he would broadcast this allegation, without feeling pretty damn strong about who it was.

I will say, that Anderson being connected to this incident, and now being tied/connected to the Perry camp, does not look good at all.

This is really ugly.

Well to be fair, you can't deny his behavior was bazaar.

His behavior would have gone not just viral on You Tube, but on MSM if it had not been for the “bomb shell” hitting Cain.

P.S. to my last post-So you fell for the media destruction of all non liberal candidates tactics.Perry’s overall speech was great ask any reporter. The sound bytes were a set up.There are still people that think Bush did a bad job he was so alinskyized. The MSM was so slick they managed to made dubya look like a dumbasdirt bad guy because he continued reading to kids on 9/11....has dyslexia—HOW DARE the leftist media make fun of a disability... and Katrina was his fault. He was not perfect no one ever was even Reagan but dubya will be shown in history to be a damned good President.Clinton sold this country out with the CRAct amendment causing the housing crisis. When dems are in control it is a disaster and they know it and don’t care.
