"The exception is strict liability crimes" means that bartenders are liable for any action their customers take.

It IS glorified baby-sitting! I wouldn't recommend the job AT ALL!

Great system, isn't it,where a guy just trying to do an honest job isn't as protected at his job as rapists are?

I agree, the bartenders are generally minumum wage folks, just trying to make ends meet. It's not always a good time, cleaning up after drunks is unpleasant at best.

What I do appreciate, is having a polite disagreement with you, a nice debate. They are hard to find here - you usually wind up getting called lots of names and personal attacks. You've refrained from that, and I apprecate it.

My greatest fear, is that history will repeat itself - and the witch-hunt that imprisoned innocent adults in the Daycare industry will repeat itself. If I could give a short-cut ride on ol'sparky; it would be for the prosecutor who theatened the children to tell stories (or you won't see Mommy and Daddy ever again); and then had innocent people lose their homes, their savings, years of their lives in jail, and their reputations.

My view is very simple - no evidence, no crime. Unless you can point to a witness, DNA, a confession, sworn affadavits from uninvolved parties - something tangible; I would refuse to convict. That's why I'm a strong proponent of cell phones recording policemen as they do their duty (as well as the police car with a front facing camera). I don't trust anyone; heck I even sit in church with my bible and look up the passages as the Priest/Pastor dishes out his sermon. If he's making up a bible verse to sell a point of view; I have no shame in standing up and pointing out his error. So far, the Clergy have been spot on - but I'm still gonna look those verses up. It would be a 'sin of ommission' to allow a lie to stand, unchallenged.
