Back in my day, the threat was football, the car, the computer, forced to stay home and not go out, extra work, etc. Everyone's got their favorite things that are important.

Back in my day, my mom threatened to not let me hit it with the babysitter, or take away my porn for an hour.

Most of those things do not work anymore...Kids are way too indoctrinated to the procedures of the legal system, and this kid was inundated from both sides...

Both from a raging hormone situation, and a father who is part of the legal system...Talk about getting pulled nine ways to Sunday...

Nothing excuses the physical abuse, but it is understandable from a certain point of view, IF you know the full story, and in this case none of us do...

You can speculate all you want, but that is not the facts...And we may never learn the full story...Still no excuse for the over the top physical abuse, and whatever and whomever setup the taping of this tells a little about why this may have occurred...

Personally I have a niece who is 13 now, and she has had her run ins with my sister (the mom) and my Brother in Law for the last year or so...It gets ugly and for some reason she (niece) calls her favorite uncle (and aunt) and asks if she can come over for a while...

Well, lets just say I intervene, only to allow things to cool off, then she gets sent home...There is not much sympathy, but the love and understanding is there because the parents need to deal with it more than we should...

Everyone goes through this in varying degrees of severity. so it is nothing new...I just don’t believe it needs to go this far...

Corporal Punishemnt Rule of 3:

• 1. Have the child explain his/her understanding of why they are being punished.
• Remain resolute and dispassionatte in dispensing discipline, and never adminster discipline while angry.
• Adminster 3 whacks, which should be delivered swiftly and severly, making sure not to injure (which is not the purpose of discipline).

  I raised two duaghters and can count on one hand the number of times they had to be discplined. One is a registered nurse, the other a successful university student. My then wife questioned me the first time I had to spank my oldest who was then about 5 years old. "Aren't you afraid they will grow up to hate you?" she asked. I replied, "My job us not to be their friend, my job is to be a parent and make sure they are trained to be responsible and productive adults. As adults, if they want to hate me for that, so be it, I have done my job, yet it is my belief that when they are grown and have children of their own, they will thank me for it." They are grown now, and my judegement in this has been born out. Neglecting to discipline your children can be just as detrimental to their development as too much discipline.

None. It would do no damage. It’s done by practically everybody with an Internet connection. That’s part of what makes his behavior so bizarre.

Here's the other part of this.

This guy is a judge. Judges are supposed to at least theoretically stay calm, cool, and collective through a trial. They are supposed to be umpires making sure the trial is fair. Bad tempers in judges are frowned upon.

This guy was out of control. For those who saw this, look at the comments he makes. Beating into submission. That's a bully, plain and simple. This wasn't a calm three whacks on the ass for disobedience. This was a power mad guy who lost control. Guys like that shouldn't be judges. I don't practice family law, but if I did, that is the last person I'd want to have a say in the custody of my client's children.

My old man used to beat us with a belt. He would hold my hand and swing the belt with the other hand as I ran in a circle trying to get away. On one occasion I was “getting a whipping” for asking the neighbor for some food. The screams coming from the girl in the video are real.

He beat her. I would guess this was not the first time. Perhaps she wants to get her father help? For whatever reason he deserves what ever comes his way.
