EVERY law abiding person should carry. I don’t care what gender you are. It’s good for men to carry. It’s good for women to carry. Not all guys are buff and good fighters. ANYONE who’s smaller, older, has injuries or disabilities, is alone a lot, has responsibilities for others, are great candidates to carry.
YOU ARE YOUR BEST FIRST RESPONDER. Nobody cares about your life as much as you do. Act like you care about defending it.

I am 30 minutes away from Police protetion at most times.
Here is how it works in a rural community.
We call the cops for a shooting or cutting or domestic dispute. An Officer responds and parks a mile away and waits for backup, that could be coming from 20 miles away.,
He doesnt enter a dangerous situation without backup. Cant say as I blame them for that, but it takes time to get two cops on the scene. Meanwhile the guy that was beating his wife, finish’s beating her and is sitting down drinking a beer when they get there.
Now the most I have seen us have to wait for an officer for an accident is 15 minutes.
Most times around here when a theft call comes in the deputy is warned to be on the lookout for armed citizens in the neighborhood.

Sheriff, if law enforcement is charged with protecting the public, then, then, then why should that not be sufficient? Why should folks have to go out and get guns and arm themselves if we've got cops? The USSC says that law enforcement has no responsibility to protect you from criminals.

We had houseguests who are Leftists from a premier Leftist enclave. My wife mentioned that we have an arsenal of guns.
Our houseguest said: "Ooooo! I think such things are best left to the po-lice!"
My wife replied: "Out here in The-Middle-of-Nowhere? I don't think so."

Melvin: If women are shooting potential attackers, aren't they presuming guilt before innocence? What if a woman kills an attacker? Isn't that opening another whole legal can of worms?Put this moron in a room full of women who have been raped and violently attacked. Lock the door and play the video/audio of his question.

Here is a reality check for Craig Melvin: The most violent cities in the country, Chicago, Detroit, New York City, all have extremely strict gun laws. Michigan has been Shall Issue for over a decade. I was carrying in Detroit in the late 90's.
