A semi-reading from the book of ZOT!
I call it a semi-reading because although there have been a number of ZOT!s, this is beyond ridiculous. While I posted once earlier I just had to stay off this thread for the most part because my blood pressure couldn’t take it. So for those who cannot seem to wrap their minds around a few things, let me post some points for us ALL to ponder. And take this in the spirit of a fellow poster with no power or authority to speak with anyone but my bad self.
1: FR is the labor of the not Swiss but American Family Robinson. It is not the labor, the property oe the domain of anyone else. Further, as I have seen used in numerous Zottings and near Zottings, at what point in the mind of a person does he/she equate making a donation/several donations to having a say in the management/policies of FR? Does this apply in any other aspect of society with a similar dynamic? If you donate to a church and disagree with their policy on X, do you think that because of that the pastor must suddenly bend to your will? I think ZOT!
2: People more than ever seem to have no freaking clue what having principles and sticking to them actually entail. Likewise for the self-proclaimed label of “Conservative.” JR has a treasure trove of documented FACTS that show Romney to be the polar opposite of what the general consensus of “Conservative” actually represents.
Yet every single freaking day, in some post on the topic, we read another Freeper “Conservative” saying in effect, “No, I don’t actually believe the things I say because rather than live by them, I will abandon them all and vote for Romney rather than an actual Conservative, because I am a coward and I “fear” Obama.
Worse yet, I see Freepers defending the practice of abandoning principles. You people are on the wrong site and voting for the wrong Party. That’s a core quality of a liberal Democrat that you’re displayin’ there. And of course you (to those this applies to) refuse to admit it and cite non-applicable free speech laws, doomsday scenarios and anything else you can devise to trick yourself into believe that you are doing something OTHER than what you really are...AKA turning your back on conservative ideals and your own integrity.
Can ONE of you make the case that voting for a Romney is in any way shape or form a “Conservative” thing to do when as JR has documented over and over again, he is a libDem with an “R” following his name? Father of Romney/Obamacare...PRO/Anti abortion...Pro/Anti 2nd Amendment etcetcetcetcetc...
Do you have ANY idea what a fool you look like saying out of one side of your mouth “I’m a Conservative” and out of the other side of your mouth “I’ll vote for him if he’s the nominee”. Actually you look and ACT just like the man you’ll vote for and claim to oppose. Romney. Or Obama for that matter since the FACT of historical data shoes little if any difference between them.
3: As for the subject of ABO, see the paragraph above. Stand for something or stand for nothing. Them’s the only two possibilities.
Lastly, this is a rant I had to get off my chest. As I have said repeatedly, there are a lot of self described ‘conservatives here that do not seem to comprehend what that is really supposed to be. And rather than firing off a post/flame to me on what an ass I am, why not better use the time for a bit of personal and political introspection and decide what it is you REALLY believe. Because your claims are pretty much contradictory.
Just answer me this. What OTHER things you claim to believe in STRONGLY are you ready to abandon out of convenience? Who are you REALLY?
